Sovereign Class - Durability Issues

I had herd an I da of swiching the akirs's spec. weapon and the sovies, but moving it up on the scale is good two.  As for adding a new ship, can anybody say achillis, hint. hint.

in the Federation Redo we plan to push the Akira a little deeper in the tech tree and make it a bit more powerful, a battlecruiser perhaps. we will also try to find something that matches at least slightly the famouse "99 torpedo launcher" rumors about that ship  The Federaiton will probably get a new ship in the Antares Yard

u did reaad my thoughts in the topic about a new fed techtree?
well, my idea for new antars yard is still the luna-class

Have you had a look at Aad Moerman's take on the Aegean?



Fix those awful stock nacelles and increase the size of the saucer in proportion to the engineering hull a little bit, and it looks a lot better, I think...

Yes, I agree he made great improovment, but... well... I don't really apreciate the, "Buzzard Nipples" that and I really didn't like the origonal.  It will continue to haunt me forever

Rats, just when I was getting pretty good at using the Federation too 

Oh well, look forward to any and all changes Optec 

Heck, maybe this'll make the Intrepid and Monsoon more worth it even!

The Intrepid and Monsoon are already worth it. The Intrepid is the all-aroun best light cruiser of any race, with it being very cheap in all ways, firing arc, costs, power, etc, etc, and the Monsoon is the second best heavy destroyer, right next to the K'Beaq.


I hope the Prem becomes buildable, even if you can only have 1 with Mayson and 2 with Risner... >:D come get me now, evil Dominion... *stops time in the enemy base and 800 ships pour in and destroy it, leaving nothing but destruciton in their wake*

I don't like the Idea of the premonition, because it is a time ship I think it should stay in the future.

Unfortunately, however, the Intrepid has a short weapon range, making it easy fodder for destroyers (think sabers or rhienn for examples), despite its fine firepower. The Monsoon I only occasionally build in MP, but because its skills are so close to the Saber... I often just go Sabre because of several reasons: I already have the tech researced, it builds faster, it is cheaper, it is a lot faster, and it has a greater range (I think). Microed, the Saber makes the Monsoon somewhat less viable... I'm open to a MP strategy if you've got one though  ^-^

Sovie topic is over until the next few patches  (Optec and Doca already stated that the Feds are being redone, so there is nothing we can say that would help, given that our ideas have already been incorporated and a methodology chosen)
