Okay.... BIG contradiction here!

According to the Dynamic string file a veteran Descent is supposed to take 2 slots... in the cap file it is 3 slots!
WHICH ONE IS IT?

I believe it does say three slots in the dynamic strings list...  :sweatdrop:

I was going through the dynamic file itself... look!

"AUTOTOOLTIP-fed_warpin_special.odf", "
    ÅRequest to relocate a experimental
ÆDescent Class vessel into your sector.
ÆThe Descent is a powerfull command
    Ævessel with experimental shield
    Ætechnology
ÅOnce the Descent reaches an officer
Ærank it will only use two warp-in
    Æslots, allowing additional warp-in
    Ærequests
",

Hm, so I see: never bothered to look in that one, but I believe it is intended to use three total warp in slots.  ^-^

fixed as it only takes up two slots, or fixed that it now SAYS three slots?  :D

I'm betting "now SAYS three slots" :)

Though one thing that drives me crazy is the fact when someone has 3 Descents! I mean, look, if you had 2 ranked up descents you can get a third! And usually there is nothing stopping you once you have 3 of them! Lower the max cap to 9! This way you can't have more than 2 descents!

Pretty hard to get 2 ranked up Descents in all honesty... with an offense of 35, you really have to have them in the thick of it.

On an unrelated note, two days ago I got 6 Galaxies by the end of a relatively short game ... and two veteran Steamrunners :D

Well, that is nice.... see if you can beat my score....

1vs3
Player: Federation
AI: Borg (AI HARD), Dominion (AI Hard), Romulan (AI medium)

Warp-in support count at the end of the game...

8 Galaxies (7 ranked up to 5 or higher, 1 unranked)
4 Nebulas (all ranked up to 5 or higher)
7 Excelsiors (5 ranked up to 5 or higher, 2 unranked)
2 Descents (both rank 5)
3 Ambassadors (2 ranked up to 5, one ranked up to 4)

>:(  boo

3 descents are alright, but hardly a undefeatable force.

If I play Fed in Instant Action, I usually end with my six Veteran Steamrunners, a minimum of eight 2-goldbar Galaxies and some 2-goldbar Excelsiors and Ambassadors. Nebulas get decommisioned as soon as I lay my eyes on them. If I feel I have too many Ambassadors and/or Excelsiors, they usually end decommisioned too.

I never call Descents (in Instant Action), but once playing as Dominion, I used almost 80 Warpin slots. I captured (from two AI Fed players) 16+ Descents and assorted amounts of other Warpin ships, but couldn't get my hands on a single Steamrunner, they are too fragile.

Oh, yes, the ship tooltip states correctly that the Veteran Descent takes three slots, but the Warpin facility said it took two. I didn't notice, as I think I never hovered over the building long enough for the tooltip to appear.

Fixed the first one :)

For the second one:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_C._Kraft,_Jr.
We followed the Star Fleet tradition to name stuff after persons related to that field of technology
