no no :< ugh... mean one that fires straight ahead only, atm it looks like a 180 degree arc (slightly more mebbe)
posted on August 25th, 2006, 4:52 pm
yeah, it still is forward arc, and it can still be destroyed if persued by long range ships and if it's engines die it's still a sitting duck.

Anyhow, you(anyone of you ;)) still havent given ANY good arguments to why its strenght should stay as it is :S

Quite simple. All the other races have ships that own when massed, so why shouldn't the feds?

finally an ally of my own!

Give me an example of this for the Dominion, Roms and Klingons please. And I mean ships that OWN as much as Defiants do (to the borders of invincibilty).

The closest ships that get to this I can think of are:
for Klingons: Sang class (-.-) or maybe Charg class (-.-)
For Roms: Generix frigates (pretty good, but u can own them easily with with equal number of Akiras for instance) or Griffins (same as Generix frigates)
For Dominion: Breen cruisers or maybe escort cruiser (at the level of Defiants, of course :hmmm: )

Bigger ships from these races cannot really mass ;) So it seems you were just talking out of your arse and not argument anyhing, anyone can do that ;)
Either that or you dont play on the internet and u do not know what the conditions are there, while against AIs any ship that is massed will work of course ;) :P

Hmmm you want a list?

Klingons: Cho'naQ, K'vort

Feds: Defiant, Remore

Roms: G-Frigate, Eresis

Dom: Bugs, Breen B-ships

Those are the ships which are as good as defiants when clustered? HAHAHAHAHAHHA    U crack me up :hmmm:

Klingons: Cho'naQ is a REALLY bad ship considering the cost and it shows a lack of sense from your part since it is a SUPPORT ship so its combat effectivness is severely limited. Kvort is a nice ship yes, but easily handled with medium ships (any medium ships really ;)) its special weapon is very good tho

Feds: remore - again support ship, defiants.....

Roms: I already explained G-Frigate, Eresis is easily beaten if you mass it with little ships due to its size and not so strong shielding. Also its weapons arent all that good either.

Dom: bugs  , you can mass them, I give u that. However u can mass ANY destroyer ANY race has and many of them are more efficient than bugs in this, so I really dunno what u mean with this :S
Breen battleship can not cluster, but a very nice ship indeed - not considering the supply cost and build time of course ;)

Cho'naq, (you mean the one with the assault disruptor?) if so that gets owned by just about any other medium sized class out there cos it fires slow.
K'vorts get owned by ships with pulse weapons.

remoores get owned by ships with phaser and torpedo weapons.

generix class, gets owned by equal number of akiras (as said) lol
eresis is an avatar ship, (one i dont know too well) but i think torpedoes are the way to go about destroying them.

bugs get owned by just about every destroyer out there that has pulse weapons(even the monsoon if it has its special)

breen battleship is too large to cluster so :P they can be picked off 1 or 2 at a time if you careful enough.

Haha

"severely limited" my ***.

Oh, and Cho'naQs aren't support ships, they're artillery.

were talking about any "single" class of ship owning another of an equal number. you've got no less than 5 different classes in just that selected fleet alone dumb@ss.

who said they were support ships? you really should read more carefully before posting -_-

Not in this one.

I also killed the base on the bottom middle with a fleet of only Cho'naQs (which had just slaughtered 20 rommy B-ships by the way).

Oh, and Black Baron said they were support ships.

You should realy read more carefully before posting. :P

FFS sombody explain to the boy what this discussion is about. again you come up with a pic where there is more than 2 friggin classes involed in a battle an you claim it was the work of 1. Do you enjoy making yourself look dumb?

oh and barons post hasn't appeared to me until right now, when i was answering this one. probably a forum error, as he was clearly posting at the same time as me. But regardless you should really read it as he has a point.

Which picture are you talking about? I never claimed that there was only one class in the picture.

you know what, i cant even be bothered to explain to you, somebody explain to this person what this discussion is about plz. or better yet perhaps you should read more than the last three replies in a thread before posting your own -_- . Besides you learn more if you figure things out for yourself than if somebody just tells you, right. So have a good read, then see if you can figure out where you have gone wrong and which direction the thead is going.

Is that fight against an AI?

For if it is, any normal player would have massed enough smaller ships to rip those things apart, and with their slow recharge, yes they would take out any one building, or a few B-ships, but if facing cheaper and more numerous cruisers, they would fail.
