Do you mind linking it here?  I looked at the modding section, but couldn't find it.  Or is it not available yet?  This would help I think.  Most Galaxy supporters either don't play online, or don't play online very often, so putting a mod like that into a second version of FO would satisfy a lot of people.  Hell, I might even spam galaxies then!

Tyler wrote:Funny you should mention that, I did make a second version of the Galaxy buildable (starting from the 'fed_galaxyA' that comes with FO). Chassis2, more expensive than any other Starfleet ship, cap of 6 (also applied to the veterans), different name list to the Warp-In version and Mayson only.

Hmmm.... sounds like a reverse of what I'm gonna do to the Intrepid.  :shifty:

I'm planning to have an Intrepid as a Warp-In. The differences would be:

- When warping in, the nacelles would be lifted up.
- It would have 2x phasers and a photon torpedo.
- Instead of the Tricolbalt... there would be a Gravimetric Torpedo special ability.
- Other than those differences... it would be the same.

I have it ready to be put up on the site, but it uses the same model as my Warp-In one does, which is the Galaxy and Venture refit hero ships from Starbase34 Compilation mod. I can't find any contact info to speak to the creator about putting it up.

If you could send me a copy of the stock FO Galaxy (Sod and odf for HP's), I could make a stock version to put up.

  Really?

I'm notoriously bad at reading sarcasm through text.  Is this a joke?  Or are you seriously asking that we turn the Galaxy in to a Borg Cube?
  ............
NO I am not trying to turn it in to a Borg Cube . With the added mass and the Increased costs  and the Extremely slow movement , coupled with the  slight bump in Off/Def stats over a normal Galaxy. I feel  this off sets the ability of A Normal Galaxy. Yet it  makes  the  Upgraded Galaxy a ship wich might satisify those whom want to make it  a buildable  ship. while balancing  play of  the  New Ship abilities.

Captain Proton wrote:Hey there,

Basically everyone here (I believe?) has decided that because the Galaxy Class was such a low produced vessel, that it's not going to be a build-able ship. Possibly ever.

However, it is available in Warp-In and in my opinion is the perfect ship for Warp-In.

Anyway, as a summary it's not build-able, as very few were ever built, 8 at most if I'm correct.

Contact Tyler, he'll tell you more, I'm sure

Why do u think that the galaxy class was a low produced vessel?

there are lots of other classes with a similar design, like the nebula I+II, the Galaxy II (alternate timeline), Niagara and new orleans.....

Because Starfleet didn't even build fifteen ships of Galaxy class. In the Dominion war some of them were a little upgraded, but at least half of them were lost.

Funny how the Defiant is a fully buildable ship, despite the fact that only 3 were ever built. As Defiant, Defiant-II and Valient were the only ships over seen on the show.

You are forgetting the unnamed defiants in Message in a Bottle.

How do you know Defiant wasn't there? And that was Voyager Considering the timeline, São Paulo was still around then.

Possible, but there were two defiants in Engame, when only one named defiant was in use.

Yea... And I suppose by that logic, because the Enterprise-E is the only Sovereign class ship ever to be seen on screen, then we can say for certain that only two (there would have had to have been a USS Sovereign) were ever built and the Sovereign class should therefore not be buildable in the game either...

Or how about this? Because we only ever see one of each in BoBW, there must therefore only ever have been exactly two Freedom, New Orleans, Chyenne, Niagra, Springfield, Challenger class ships ever built (the one of each seen in BoBW plus the patherfinder that would bear the same name as the class)... The same would apply to all the DS9 kitbashes as well...

And for that matter, outside of possible future timelines and alternate universes, we've only ever seen one Negh'Var class ship (the IKS Negh'Var itself). That must mean only a single Negh'Var class was ever built, right? So that must mean that Klingon players shouldn't be able to build Negh'Vars in Fleet Ops, right? Riiiight?...

I could go on. But seriously, if we're going to use the number of different ships of a particular class we've seen in the show (which, may I remind you, represents only a tiny slither of the complete history of the universe Star Trek inhabits), then the Federation would probably end up clogged with more non-canon ship designs that would have to be brought in to plug holes left behind by ships that were "too rare" in the canon for them to be buildable in Fleet Ops... The reason the Galaxy is only a warp-in is because we've been specifically told that it's a rare design, whereas nothing has ever been said about how many Defiant, Sovereign or Negh'Var class ships there are...

No need to answer sarcasm with sarcasm... many don't actually go with the logical idea and only go with what was seen.

A thread about Galaxy's dying? Not a chance, they just come back as a new thread... or the odd new post.
