Well of course it's not realistic in trek, but it was neat nonetheless.

I propose another idea. You know how the stations have their own sounds? They should use station sounds different from those from A2. I think that the new sounds should come from ST:DS9: The Fallen. They have neat sounds in that game especially on the station DS9 (of Cardassian origin) as well as the Obsidian Order base on Hass'terral.

...as well as sounds from ST:TNG: Birth of the Federation. I would usually edit my post, but I don't want this topic to die. I feel that the Cardassians are too important to leave out of FO, no matter what.

I actually also agree with Preator on this one, the Cardassians are too important to the Star Trek universe to not be a major race. Plus when they were last seen in the canon world (End of DS9) there were no ideas as to what the future would bring for them.

That's why they should be in FO, they are so open in terms of canon, the FO team can decide on how they should be.

T-Man does bring up a good point. After DS9, there's no official information on the Cardassians after that series. For all we know, they might have been conquered. I've seen stuff on the web about future timelines including information on a Legate Toran in the 2390's and around that time. It would be interesting to see what Cardassia would become after the Dominion War, and this mod is a great opportunity to see how Cardassia has come along after that d***** tragedy. My suggestions for stuff like Garak and Obsidian Order avatars are good suggestions in my opinion, and I based them off of what I've read on the web in some instances. The way the Cardassians were in A2 was a big shame, and since FO was meant to go where A2 could never go, I think that having the Cardassians on this mod, even if they may be somewhat of a second-rate power although they've had a big role in Star Trek, would be a huge step. All we have to do is keep on pushing for their inclusion in this mod no matter what anybody says.

They would make a good raider band race, you know, random elements.

Aye, they could have their own ships slightly weaker than the other races (but cheaper), then have an "Embassy" station where they can warp in allied vessels (like the starfleet command).

To add realisim, these should probably cost Latinum, which could be generated at the Embassy station by selling Dilithium and Tritanium there. This Latinum could then be used to call in ships from other races, which are stronger than the Cardassian ships (though the strongest or rarest ships would cost credits as well to balance the whole thing out). Examples of ships avalible could be the Kessok light and heavy crusiers from Bridge commander.

Sounds all right, but you're forgetting a few things - ewm90 mentioned that the Cardassians can't mine tritanium due to a glitch in the game, and the Kessok aren't even real in respect to Star Trek. They were made only for the purposes of ST: BC. I think by having ships like from the Yridians, the Lyssepians, the Breen, the Tholians, and other second/third-rate powers from the alpha and beta quadrants.

I think there could definitely be a triangulation politically between the Cardassians, the Federation, and the Romulans, basically with the intent of reintegrating into galactic society and also keeping the Klingons at arm's length. Perhaps some anti-klingon technologies (whatever those might be) could find their way into the next generation of ships that replace the galor as fleet cruiser?
