I must take a neutrual ground here people. On one side, it is likely that the current FO storyline the team have planned means the Cardassians wont be able to get a major role for the moment. In terms of canon, this would be becuase:

1) They're still in financial ruin after the Dominion War
2) The Noxter have invaded their space (check the Noxter Beta2 techtree under "Depredator") and they would prevent any attempt at reconstruction.

However, i disagree that it is impossoble for them to become a major in the future. It is obvious that Cardassian space (and maybe even Cardassia itself) will come into play at some point when the Noxter take on the other races.

In conclusion, unlikely...but not impossible.

Well in terms of canon, your second second reason is impossible. The first one can be fixed simply, by fast reconstruction with the help of the federation, and possibly the romulans because they were also friendly. Only take 3 years to get them back on their feet and roughly at pre war levels.

True, now that you mention it Defiant, I'm sure the Cardassians would still have enough strength to hold off the Noxter. And taking into account how they were actually on the federation side at the end of the Dominion war, i would be logical that the Fed's and her allies helped them rebuild the union.

However, i bet ya some laws were introduced at the same time, a Post-Dominion War take on WW1's "Treaty of Versailles" if you will (Though with fairer rules i hope ) and that quite a few Cardassians would not like the idea of being at peace with the Fed's and Klingons, so there would no doubt be a few rebel groups active.

Yo, i think we have a good storyline forming here...Keep idea bouncing guys! ^_^

I doubt the cardassians would get many if any restrictions, but it depends on what leader came to power after the war, a open minded liberal or another one of there conservatives.

Garek

then all the restrictions would be needed that devious son of a gun

Yo, i decided to have a shot at making a foundation ship list. Its only a start, but see what you think, want to change etc. I used mostly AII ships for this one. Italics are special things of note for each vessel:

Hideki class – Scout
Tachyon Grid - Detects clocked vessels

Rasilak class – Medium Phaser Destroyer

Sartan class – Medium Torpedo Destroyer

Norin class – Light Cruiser

Brinok class – Support Cruiser
???
???
???

Gul Vystan class – Phaser Cruiser

Legate class – Torpedo Cruiser
Plasma Torpedo - fires an artillery-style shot at the target

Tonga class – Heavy Cruiser

Vasad class – Support Cruiser
???
???
???

Galor class – Light Battleship

Keldon class – Heavy Battleship
Costs 2 Credits

Hutet class – Dreadnought
Costs 6 Credits
Tachyon Grid – Detects clocked vessels
Cardassian Marines (Passive Ability) – Makes Hutet harder to board, and stronger in boarding
Repair Bay (Passive ability) - Anything below a Galor-class in size can use the Hutet as a repair bay
Large sensor range
Large Crew

Well see half of those ships are just stolen from A2, and are non-canon. Thats the problem.

The ones from A2 I don't want to see. I think that the other stuff I would have to agree with except that the Hideki should be like the Sabre-class in terms of strength. The shuttle from that one episode of DS9 should be the scout class ship for FO. The Kalen I think should be a light battleship in FO with cloak capability and I think that it should possibly, but that it doesn't have to be, cost 1 credit. It would be a light battleship with two phasers and one torpedo.

I've seen something on the web about Garak becoming the leader of Cardassia.

Only thing I would want from reg A2 is sartan, it had like 2-3 compressors, it was pimp for being so small.

I concur with that assessment, Praetor.

Agreed. Scrap AII stuff except the Sartan.

That leaves the Hideki, Galor and Keldon (Canon), the Norin, Tonga and Hutet (if we decide to keep DW ships) and the Sartan (for pimpiness). All in all, i think a good foundation for the FO team to add to if they decide to use it.

The Kalen would make a nice addition donald, and the 1 credit cost would make it plausible. If you ever find a picture, be sure to post it up for us to look at.

Would it be possible to find a pic of this shuttle of yours aswell for us to see?

I have a link that shows the shuttle:

http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/schemati...ssian_ships.htm

Just scroll down the page, and you'll see it.

As for the Kalen, I've googled and yahooed for a picture, but I've found nothing. As I've said, I've only found references to that ship class. One reason that I started up the Kalen thread on the feature request section was to propose possible designs for FO of the Kalen. I wish I had one from the web, but the sad truth is apparent.
