lol. yeah. I don't really care. :D

I didn't mean a lot by the hull strength. But thinking about any type of seaship, land vehicle or otherwise, the bigger the ship the more it can take. If you shoot a torpedo (earth bound kind), it will do more damage to a smaller ship than a larger one. ie, a destroyer with no shields could take more than an aircraft carrier with no shields, even though neither actually have shields. (assuming forcefields take care of decompression in space).

lol, and yes, of course aft torpedos would be really good. I could uncloak, fire in front, and while passing you before recloaking, i could shoot my rear guns as well.  I was never really even arguing the firepower part (just suggesting it wasn't all that relevant due to some other matters ... cloak) It isn't so much to do with intelligence as practicality. I mean, forget the aft gun and everything. But just overall gun number/strength type thing.

as for intimidation.. I dunno. Intimidation isn't necessarily (just) making others think you are stronger than you are. You  have to actually be strong, or no one is going to be scared of you regardless. Yes, Romulans would prefer to avoid conflict.

I'd actually be interested to know how long it takes to uncloak and recloak for romulan ships. Could be pretty significant depending.

I agree. lol, I don't even know how much we disagree. I wasn't saying anything about firepower. A lot was based off the cloak... and I'm not to sure why you are shrugging that off (cloak can be disabled... well yes, but you have to actually disable it. and before you do, the ship might cloak and be firing and everything. Surprised there was no mention of tachyon or neutrinos or whatever it was) but yeah, we don't need to lose any sleep over this. theyre just a couple of ships.

That thing about ships being bigger being able to take more damage isn't true, have you have ever heard of the titanic?

Big ship... giant ice berg. And think, it didn't sink in seconds. The ship took hours to go down didn't it? Have you ever seen those ships that plow through the arctic ice? Huge ships, mostly bow heavy. Little ships get eaten. Even medium ships can get frozen still. Overall, I don't see the big deal with me saying that bigger ships are going to be relatively stronger.

I didn't say it made them invincible. If that had happened to a fishing boat though.. lol that thing'd be toast.

There are lots of reasons to argue everything.

Weak volatile areas might make bigger ships more dangerous though. If there were certain things aboard that could be detonated, etc.

Titanic didn't go down from damage, that was minor. Filling with water is a bit different from, and is the only time size would be a definate advantage (assuming the interior is designed right).
