True, though I can imagine Archer punching Q. That has to be worth some points...

At least it hasn't become a Galaxy thread yet... I'm one of the people who hijacked my own thread...

Funny all iam doing is expressing my views like many of you here, and not once would i think of name calling, if my views bother you then feel free to ignore me. Cant help to think that Star Fleet has some bit of Americian history with all but one captian being from France.

Star Trek is an American TV show, so most of the captains featured are American, but a lot of the crew members are from other countries. Starfleet has ships named after American ships, but it also has ships named after German, British, and other nations' ships. It's multinational, which is definitely intended.

Was that intentional or did it just happen?

Kirk?!? Best captain? That captain of yours wasn't much more than a flirtatious, gullible, cowboy who could barely keep his shirt on. The best captain by far is Picard. It doesn't matter what situation he's in he takes charge and does it through sheer force of character. Phasers are an after thought with him. He can broker a deal with anyone, including the Ferengi and Romulans. He has been assimilated by the Borg Queen herself (practically) and lived to tell the tale. Face it man, Picard is da bomb :pimp:(My god, did I really just say that, *self slap* *self slap* no slag, no slag, don't perpetuate the degradation of the English language :D).

HAHA  I can see Kira trying to strangle Q

I imagine that if the Q episodes for Voyager had better writing then Janeway would be the one to introduce Q to some hard knuckles. She was badass in that episode she drove her ship into near certain death to kill the medical experimenting aliens. Just imagine that attitude toward Q when he comes looking for a mate.

Another Kirk Vs. Picard argument. It always gets the fanboys to come a runnin'.

Picard: Thinker.
Kirk: Mostly Warrior, a bit of a thinker too.
Congratulations on getting off topic in just about every way possible (without Nazis, wait, we haven't had Nazi comparisons yet have we?), I think I even spotted a spark that could've set off a left vs right flame war!
Btw: Galaxy is a waste of space and materials. How do you justify all those extra people and stuff needed to make them comfortable? Repair is no excuse, we saw repair robots in TNG that were sentient.

City in space prototype, civilians, extensive scientific population. Being a Battleship with peacetime use is a bonus. Those nanites were accidental, cannot be duplicated and isolated on a planet and with no desire to help Starfleet in any way. You forget that sentient means they can't be forced to help you...
Not a waste in any sense of the word.
Do not respond or this will be a Galaxy thread...

It is when you have to be diplomatic and the application of one of these "winning" traits could start a war. Also it isn't very becoming of a Starfleet officer to flirt with the first woman he meets on every planet.

They usually were meant to be, at least by 1960s standards.
