That was most obviously a joke... they surely didn't targeted the "Waste Extraction System"...

Tyler, don't forget when that Miranda stuck in the timeloop struck the Enterprise and they failed to eject the core as well

While we're bashing the Generations script, I'll bet there was probably a crumpled page or two on the floor where they aimed the saucer at the planet, did the Spock-Back-In-Time thingy, and then crashed anyways, somehow (thank you "Calamity Troi")
Anyway, I always liked the Cracked article on the end of that movie:

Pun not intended, but they did target waste extraction. As I mentioned in a previous thread: Borg must have some pretty explosive crap!

The Cube's 'Waste Extraction' was never mentioned anywhere except AOL Chat, so it's not actually canon.
Probably damaged, since an impact on a nacelle can be devastating. Still doesn't fit the claim that ejection failure was a Galaxy design flaw (even though there was no flaw).

I wasn't aware I was arguing that the ejection system was a flaw of the Galaxy. Afterall, the Defiant experienced similar issues on occasion, not to mention alien vessels as well.

Nebula was the one that claimed design flaw, using the Yamato as an example.

every ship has design flaws, but i dont think the stuff said here, counts to it

Actual flaws, or just suspiciously convenient plot-armour holes?

The only way I can imagine every ship having design flaws is if you mean the prototypes or refits that don't work off paper.

vorcha: viulnerable from behind, main disruptor cannon unrelaiable = design flaw
Deridex: to big for any serios manuvering, quite slow = design flaw
see: every ship has design flaws, thats just the result of building a ship for certain situations. It will always have some points where its not good.

Oh, you meant a weakness? Design flaws are often considered starship versions of a bug.
Warp nacelles are a weakness all Starfleet ships have.

a design flaw near the deflector dish meant the galaxy class ships were no longer built when the dominion exposed it. thats where the sovereign class comes into it's own. the BOP would of never defeated a galaxy class ship without romulan help and if you recall back to earlier TNG episode where la forge was taking a trip to Risa, kidnapped, tortured and altered by romulans then sent back to take orders from a klingon ambassador to cause choas on a klingon outpost, they couldnt of done it without the visor on Georgi La Forge, and during that time with sela with the brief klingon civil war, the romulans could of given that info to the klingon sisters, and considering it said shield frequency on the console it was impossible to change frequency without the klingon sisters knowing about it, and that same sort of tactic was used during voyager and equinox with the holo doctor without ethics in sickbay. voyager would of been more then a match for the equinox without the shield frequency being relayed back.
Riker must of been asleep upto the point when the saucer was going into the planet, i guess he was overconfident because its the enterprise.

as for design flaws in other ships, if your close enough to another ship and out of weapons range, that in itself is a design flaw. the d'deridex warbird has several major flaws

behind the head, just above and below both nacelle pylons, and the mid section itself, one proper hit with a torpedo to the supports connecting to the mid section and it could cause many problems once it's broken.
one known weapons port and it's angle of fire is probably 60 degree.
star fleet vessel weaknesses, example the pylon and nacelle as said. Federation vessels usually have adequate all round defense abilities

Klingon vessels also have weaknesses in the pylons and the neck section.

pretty much a standard configuration even with recent klingon ships, its the same problem upto he negh'var. and i may also point out that recent klingon ships also have one weapons port like romulans, again upto the negh'var.
