Yes, the Destroyers have ships similar to the UFP, however, their ships are more powerful, and are to look like they were made by children. When I first made them, they were more like an anti-Federation, using the exact same ships, now they are their own race, with their own ships, though with the base still as a Starfleet ship. They aren't limited by the 'must have 2 nacelles' law by Roddenberry. Speed is limited by the number and size of warp coils in the nacelles. They can have ships with a single nacelle, which can outrun any Federation ship, though at the expense of fuel and weapons, as more plasma is needed for the nacelle.

Plasma is, by the way, the main power and propulsion source. Plasma is generated in Fusion and Anti-Matter cores, and replicated for use in a Quantum Singularity power core. It is then cycled throughout the ship, or pumped out of the impulse engines.

The original model was a kitbash, with me taking the model of a constitution class, ripping out the engineering section, and slapping the nacelles on the bottom. However, after I put it into Star Trek Armada, I noticed that if the ship was on screen, the frame rate would drop. I haven't noticed a problem in Fleet Ops, but I need a new model anyway. I made this on my own, crafting the nacelles first, then the body. I made this in Google Sketchup, and am proud of my work.

This is the second image, which should show the protruding shield generator, which is common on Destroyer ships until 2344.

Also, I've been trying to put a node on the nacelle grills, but I don't think its accepting it because the vertexs are part of the casings.

you should be able to put a joint anywhere on or off of the model. it shouldn't make a difference.

What do you think of the model so far? Do you think you can make a decent texture? Can you make some for heros? (I have 6 of this class.)

I have another, the DSS Morte Navi. It's a hero ship, and has a mass of firepower. Pics and specs available, but I was thinking.

You know how in Fleet Ops, they show a top down view of the ship in the information panel? Why not put an MSD-like piece there? What do you think

If you mean put a 3d rotatable view there, then that would be impossible, but you can however put any picture you want in the systembackground image. Top down, angled, side view, etc.

As for texturing, I have never done a federation style ship, but I do know how to, and I would be willing to give it a shot.
Again, just to confirm, you did make it yourself right? It is very well done, and I just want to make sure. It doesn't matter too much since it is a private mod, but I would like to know if it is a kitbash. ;)

oh and assuming I can do a base texture, hero ships are no problem. just adding a registry.

No, no. Just a simple image, like a wall mounted display. Like the MSD that is visable on the Enterprise, behind the captain, just without the moving parts.

It is all mine. I sculpted it from an image in my mind. No one else is responsable, except for the textures currently on it.

A basic texture is perfect. The only requirements are that it must be made to tile easily, and that it must have three colors, with a bright blue for the Neutronium. I recommend making a few, for scouts, destroyers, cruisers, and battleships, with the blue parts increasing as the type goes up.

About the Destroyer Class, it is a massive ship, and it's hull is designed like a city. Is it possible to texture that too?

Sorry if it seems like I'm a bit demanding.

Oh, you are talking about a LCARS image or something to that effect. That could be done.

good job on the model btw, and yes, I can make matching ship textures, using colors you approve, and I can make windows and details so that they appear bigger. I'm not sure what you mean by tileable, but it will be based off of a base metal pattern I will generate, which I can add color into, and then I will map the model to the ship, then add details.

A few notes before I commit to anything though,
1) I will only be able to work on this as my time permitts. Since this is a personal mod, and it will not be released, I will probably not put tones of detail into the textures, though I certainly won't hold back if I have the time

2) my textures will not be released without my permission first. you can mod them, use them for whatever in a personal mod, transfer them to friends, but they will not be allowed to be uploaded anywhere. Please.

3) I will probably need access to the models at some point unless you think you can map them to the ships your selves and do the fine detail work. :sweatdrop:

5) you have to post pictures of them on the forums. :D I always prefer my work to stay public, but if this is to be a private mod, at least others can look at it. 8)

That's no problem. Just let me know how its going from time to time. I don't really like being left in the dark.

Well, I had been planning on releasing videos later in life (Some time in the next six years, but not for the first two), and I had been planning on making this mod public to play, with your permission, of course, as well as the permission of anyone else who helps.

That's no problem. Just send me an address when you're ready.

That's no problem. I have been planning on posting pictures as I continue to work, though I havent had a place to do so. I have a website, but its down right now until I can publish at least one book, even if it's not successful.

If you don't wanna give your permission, that's fine. I'm not the kind of guy who is an ass and publishes his work w/o permission from his friends.

Naw man, videos are totally awesome, and as I said, I actually prefer my stuff to be public, but I want to know what is happening with it at least while I am developing it. :) And I understand the being left in the dark thing, every modder is the same way. I also like to make sure that if I do work on a mod, it is making progress. I am not going to make textures for a mod that doesn't go anywhere, but if you are showing me progress while I do it, I will feel compelled and motivated to do more.

tbh, most of my notes are because we have had people like that before. I have been burned so many times I try to stay on my toes as much as possible, while still offering as much help as I can. :assimilate:

p.s. I know my last point was 5. :D I was trying to make the last point seem a little funny. :sweatdrop:

Look, I'm not that kind of guy. You help, no problem, Im not an ass, and I dont plan on losing any friends.

I may be active in the multiplayer community soon. I was able to get my computer out of storage. Now, if I could only get it working...

I could also use some voices. I'm used to voicing them on my own, but I cant do female voices, and I would like some variety. The only thing I need is two separate sets of voices, one for the adult TCF, and one for the Destroyers, which I will be digitally enhancing to increase (or decrease) pitch. It's open, to some degree. I'll be posting up a list tomorrow, with the ship names, and it will be up to the actors to chose the dialog, aside from some bits from me.

If you want to hear my normal dialog, I think I can add it here, or later on my website.

If you or anyone want to help we make the models useable, it would help a great deal.

That is a nice list. :)

Also, how do you like this hull pattern? Color, detail, etc?

That looks great. Let me try it on one of my ships. I'll post a photo when I'm done.

ok. it obviously has no detail yet, but see what you think of it as a base paneling.

It may take me a bit, but i think I can do better on the nacelles.

I would suggest you stretch it out more. So the details are bigger. :)
