In the unit overviews:

[Romulan]
The shrike stats need to be fixed... instead of B for beams it should be P for pulses.

Other errors are:
- Cehlaer does not have pulses... it has beams...

Yes, that is indeed correct  :sweatdrop: . All the current stats in the unit overviews are the very basic stats- no avatar bonuses, nothing. That will all change soon, as Zebh has been working to create a style sheet which will allow me to quickly add avatar and mixed tech bonuses, that way if only the base stats change or only the avatar bonuses change etc, I need not hunt around and change everything, because I can select which fields have what changes :)

Thanks Gamer, I don't know how that slipped in there :)

Mixed-Tech Analysis - The Hitchhiker's Guide to Fleet Operations

on this page ACS is spelled ECS in the rom section.

EDIT:

also on this page
Directive: Optimize - The Hitchhiker's Guide to Fleet Operations

some images are placeholders near the bottom, and i was wondering if the borg are gonna have a unit analysis like the others?

Thank you :)
And yup, the Borg will get their unit analysis and profile as well, but the page for them is currently work in progress due to the "collective connections" requirements  :sweatdrop: .

Hehe, I never did fix up those placeholders - I'll have to see if the images were ever uploaded so I can replace them  :D . Thanks again - always good to get feedback of any sort :)

The mix-tech analysis 'not good for this avatar' icons look very good.

Seeing that makes me want to suggest putting a 'must have for this avatar' icon for the ones that you state "This vessel is a must for..."

 Right on man! Those will be included soon as well - after we realized that there were indeed some "meh" units not warranting either a "no" or "yes" vote :)

More images have been added (including all the missing ones in the Borg Opti strat section) ... advice is going slowly on the Coop MP section (I'll do an overhaul this upcoming weekend I hope  ), so if you have some that you feel is not yet there, feel free to post it here or elsewhere on the forums :) .

EDIT: build times have been added to all units in the unit overviews... the site is currently undergoing a redesign which will be complete in a few weeks. If all goes well, build times, avatar specific stats, veteran stuff etc will all have their appropriate place in the columns. For now, the build times are located in a temporary location :)

Just an idea for the guide - a Map section that would list out each of the stock FO maps with basic stats (such as size, number of players) and potentially some strategies useful on that map.

 Well, the future plan (in the exceedingly long list of planned tasks  :whistling: ) is to stick an additional section where all the top downloaded/most recently created maps can be found/downloaded.

The maps could be arranged by size, amount of players, whatever (just like the unit profiles can be sorted). With any luck (meaning when Zebh can manage to dedicate even more of his free time to this task while the rest of us roaches loaf about) this will be possible and implementable after the "next edition" of the guide is released (as that administrator version is receiving the necessary code for public ftp and other necessary features).

Potential strategies and most popular maps could be added right away though I think - but given the gravity of the coming changes I am not sure how wise it would be for me to discuss specific strategies in relation to these maps. I will do my best to discuss some basic thoughts that will hold constant across any possible changes (baring the rearrangement of the map in question) in the time being if you think that would be a good tool. :)

And then one day, the Hitchhiker's Guide to Fleet Operations will open up its own forum, and everyone will migrate there, and there won't be a need for this one. :D

Resistance is Futile.  You will become one with the Guide.  :assimilate:

Don't panic.

heh - honestly I just want it so I have something intelligent to say in the first 2 mins of commentary. Talk about the map ... size, num players (hard to get this info while watching a game, unless it's on a website), potential strategies.

I can imagine.  The first five minutes are like, "...and this guy's building stuff.  Aaannd so is this guy.  He's building stuff too.  Hey, what's that guy doing over there?!  Is he building stuff?  He is!  He is building stuff, folks!  Look at him build that stuff!  Wow!  It's like... getting built... and stuff!" :pinch:

But you make up for it with good commentary after stuff finally gets built. :P

Just sing 5 minutes of Klingon drinking songs, and then do the commentary.  In Klingon.  You'd be a hit at the conventions.

Hehe, the goal of the guide's site is of course to better complement and bring more people to FO.net and the game - there will be a forum, but only for making complaints and suggestions for improvement (i.e. for those who do not wish to registry here and post). I bet you knew that already you leg puller :P

Ok, sounds good - I'll try to do my best to have some strategies and thoughts up about various maps :)
