Emm galaxy and defiant with crews of equal potencial

And dont judge the Defiant class only on what USS Defiant did. That would not be realistic.

I think Galaxy would be the victor every time

where the **** did you get the idea a defiant could beat a Galaxy?

ok simply you have 360 degree fire with the galaxy

defiant can only fire forward

galaxy has much faster and bigger warp engines therefore more power better sheilding

it would only take 3 or 4 shots of a galaxy phaser to take down defiants sheilds from there one of the burst fire tubes could finish the job

if u doubt it when they have the large fleet battles how many times do u see Galaxys just ripping apart cardassian ships in one shot?

did it all the time in SFC3 with the TNG mega mod. as long as my human opponent wasn't using the galaxy-X class. that ion cannon get me every time.

Yeah and I used to beat a warbird with a bird of prey in BC so that doesnt mean that bop is stronger now does it :S

dont even start with BC i could manouver around sovvys and galaxys that game was too easy with fast ships


but in all reality a Defiant has no chance against a galaxy its just a fact

like didnt an excellsior hold its own against the defiant the Lakota if not wrong

so come on???

that's because neither used torpedoes, it they did an all out engagement, the defiant would be on top. Becuase the defiant would dodge most or all of the lakota’s torps, and the lakota is to big to dodge the defiant’s.

Back to the galaxy debate
hit the warpcore, when that's busted take out the aft torpedo launcher and phaser banks, and stay on his ***. That’s how you takeout a galaxy class

The Defiant is not that maneuverable. And yes, they were firing torpedoes. But they were at such close range that they both kept missing.

And the Lakota and Defiant are different battle tactic styles, so it's hard to say who'd win. Probably depends on the crew.

Although, the Defiant's only firepower is forward, with an aft torpedo tube. It can only shoot a target when going straight at it, making it an easy target to get shot itself, say by the heavier phaser banks of a Galaxy-class starship....

The problem with the defiant is that it was only shown as a hero unit, so it did stuff that it could not normally do. Thats why people think its THAT strong but in reality u cannot judge a starship like that.

wish i still had SFC3 though. but i really did take out galaxy class ships in multi-player battles in my little defiant (the USS Griffin). now, are you saying the TNG mega mod staff got the stats wrong? which i suppose is possible.

yeah i am because the galaxy splits into two vessels then what happens defiant attacks teh saucer and the star drive rapes it

actually the saucer would retreat to protect the civies, and the stardrive attacks the little ship, my ship.

well i find the galaxy a bit weird, it isn't suitable for combat because before you are in combat you have to separate or let all civilians be destroyed on board. really weird

The simple truth is that a galaxy is just to big. the defiant would get run over by the galaxy. its like a gunbouat taking on a battleship. thats what the defian realy is. a gunboat

i like to think of it as a torpedo boat, but whatever.

the neat thing about torpedo boats is that for a tiny little boat, you can takeout something the size of a battleship, or even scare one or two off.

we're never going to agree on this, so we should just drop it, it's not going anywhere either.
