Random weapon patters, despite my love of a pattern of fire where it is phaser torpedo and this is more a hey if it is easy can we do it in V5 that would be awsome :) buy yeah more like a sweeping phaser that comes across the phaser banks rather than from one point. and then Torpedoes that just fired at their own pase with mabey a little more defined "spikes" to them. almost like Dominion wars tops they seemed to be right on track. Sorta like that firing system of fire, I know it is complcicated and would involve a massive modification to the ODF's but It would be cool

Like I said before Klingon Weapons taking on a less federation like weapon sprite

Replacing the Fed Decent with the prometheus, making it less credits, weaker and the always impossible seperator system :) (silly A2 enigne is it one of those we didn't include it that is why it can't be done or one of those only 2 ships may be created by a seperation?)

I will think of some other stuff later but that has been bugging me

The Prometheus is needed, but not as a Dreadnaught. It's much too small.

how about this:

1. we remove dreads from the federation
2. make all the heavy federation support ships(ie above nebula class in size) cost only one credit (the other two are free).
3. give the federation support ships upgrades, for the larger ship they cost one more credit. (not sure how i feel about this one, but just thought i'd put it in there)
4. we add the prometheus to the support ships in-between the nebula and galaxy.

this is my plan for making the federation more cannon and also trying to keep it balanced. (which i'm not sure it even does)

The Federation does have a history of maintaining dreadnaughts in a time of war (i.e. the old Federation and Federation-2 classes), so I think removing the dreadnaught would be a mistake. Plus, without the dreadnaught, the Feds would have no special units worth mentioning.

Nope fraid not, because none of the "dreadnaughts" you have mentioned are non cannon, fans just wished they did... there are no such things as federation Dreadnaughts, look it took almost 400 years and a war to lure out the first federation Battleships ;)

However, they are presewnt in the tech manual, which, depending on who you talk to, can overwrite the show.

i suppose it could work, but there'd have to be a disasterous war for the federation to just star designing them. IMHO

Yeah it wouldn't make sence for them to design them so suddenly after the dominion war is over, and they wouldn't have had the recources during the war

which Tech manual? the DS9 one?

never heard of these, so i assume that they are uncanon, in times of war (modern war anyway) the galaxy class takes the fleet role of dreadnaught. forget about "exploratory cruiser" or whatever crap someone has sstated... bottom line, the Galaxy class is starfleet's dreadnaught.

or the "sovie" now.

well the sovie has always been called a battlecruiser, i think that would be more acurate since although a very large ship, its still smaller than the galaxy class, & a dreadnaught is all about size.

If Fleet Ops had a storyline, I'm pretty sure it would involve a few disastorous wars. ;)

dreads are about firepower and armor, not really size, but i guess size does have something to do with firepower and armor though.

may i quote the defiant CLASS. so i stand by size being more important for a TREK dreadnaught :P .
