V3 Borg
You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

I think quoting crosis is a bit dodgy in terms of what borg behavior is like. That quote in particular is completely out of context as those borg had been fundamentally changed by Lore and don't assimilate anyone except artificial organisms.
This is the exact opposite of the real borg. Remember when Locutus was talking to Data? "You will be obsolete in the new order."
Since the assimilation of locutus, the borg have become far more interested in assimilating humans, but not necessarily their starships. (Although it could be argued that the ship in Descent was a previously assimilated ship of an unknown race, I mean most borg ships are perfect geometrically.)
And Descent is definitely a nono in terms of borg ideology.

I believe that the Borg assimilate to understand so the assimilation process is just a secondary biproduct of what knowledge they have, if they are interested in something they assimilate it, if they pose it as a threat but a minor one they will assimilate it but if its a threat that is dangerous they will just destroy it but first they have to have some sort of knowledge of the enemy species to engage it and win so they have to assimilate someone or something from the target race to engage it better. The problem the borg had against species 8472 was they couldn't assimilate it. They don't like to assimilate everyone/everything but they need to assimilate something to understand it.
But I think your correct about how they make their ships, I remember what Q said in the first episode with the Borg, "they are the Ultimate user..." The Borg create their ships from nothing, they use replicators and the hive mind itself to basically make the ships, what the Borg want or more people in the collective, more people means more power basically to them thats why they designed their ships as they are, to try to limit casualties in any engagements.
But to make the game play like that will seem very wrong... Need to keep it somewhere close to gameplay, and most of what we are talking about is just what we think from the little amount of information we have. We know the Borg assimilate stuff but not all the time so how do we base the Borg race in game to represent that? Thats the real question, but anyways how did people think of my map idea? To radical?

i know that i'm new here and should listen before i speak but after reading a few post about how this is bad and that is worse "i've been moved to share".
people overall seem to adjust particular race to their playstyle while it should be the other way around. i've read shomething like "change borg to a normal race" 'n stuff. if it's so hard for somebody to play borg maybe u should try to play klingons or something. don't just say "borg are so cool that i need to play them but they need some changes because i don't like how they are now and i don't like playing them". i dont mean anybody in particular, it's just my overall impression.
i just hope that the FO staff will give us some time (3-4 months) before the patch is released to try to figure out how to play this game and don't rush any major changes too soon.

your right tom.
but i think its important to release a patch now, there are major inbalances in the game. making it unfair to play as a race, that has expensive but relativly weaker cap ships (feds).

you can't be serious. in my opinion the feds are v well balanced. maybe they're not the same as in the series but considering the game balance they're ok.

what we need now is a tournament. if let's say 30 players could participate this would really show which race is inbalanced

Im not just talking about the feds, They may receive little fixing but the other races need some real tweaks.
Your obviously a feds player, and thats all well and good but alot of ppl arent, and they deserve to get the game ballanced.

i hate the feds
i'm a romulan player & also like the dominion so u see i could have some reasons to complain. let's say my romulan fleet clashing with the feds worth about as much d&t. i don't stand a chance. inbalance? no, it's the way it should be. as i see it the romulans are hit&run race and i should avoid open battles if i'm playing as them, at least until i have a few tavaras
