You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

They usually have overall stronger standard-weaponry than at least a cruiser. Also, small destroyers can't take them on when in small numbers, which makes turrets what they should be: a big deal of help against early harassing, if placed well.

The game is called "Fleet Operations". There's a thought behind this name.

Actually you need to house and pay for the hundreds of torpedos each turret may fire throughout its lifetime. I know this does not apply to energy weapon platforms, but they are cheaper than torp turrets anyway.

But see, bud ... this isn't a reason for changing the mechanics of a game .  This is just your dislike of the way it is.

I think they should change Starcraft 2 so that if something biological gets shot, it dies within 10 seconds (because how can you live after you've been shot?? ?? ??)

.  It's just not gonna happen, buddy :).  The game is set up for multiplayer.

I do feel the special weapon's are underpowered on the Fed side.

Lack of a need for life support doesn't matter, we've already seen on Star Trek that anything unmanned will usually be designed with life support (if normally inactive). You cannot repair a broken interior from a shuttle, only the hull.

Bring pressure suits for the people performing the repairs.  Putting life support on an unmanned station is a waste of resources.

you are a waste of a resource...

you are yet to give a single reason for your logic! you only play single player and are keen to mod, so go mod single player and have it the way you like... don't forget to make your starting unit a Tactical Cube the feds took over with a computer virus from windows 98...

They put life support on unmanned Trek stations, maintenance is easier without bulky suits. Pressure suits are only used outside or if life support is dead/isn't possible.

erm... coil coil coil :D

also critical shot, sorry starbase, you're not allowed to fire.

also precise volley, shields go from 100% to 0% instantly. a few can make starbases feel naked.

progressive scan, useful for both long range peeking and decloaking.

proximity torp, BOOM HEADSHOT

need i go on? the romulans are supposed to be special weapons kings but the feds have a claim to be the masters at the moment.

They actually are pretty cheap in the grand scheme of things.

Why is it that you expect me to be online all the time?  I'm not going to spend all day playing fleet-ops.

Okay, you've convinced me somewhat, but you're still going to have to prove it.  I've got a 1v1 up now.

not all the time, just every now and then. and balancing is for online mp, so if you want to try out something for balance you have to try it online a lot.

Well it was bound to happen we havent had a good "Feds are so weak, they dont have a dreadnaught, the soverign is underpowered, galaxy should be one shotting bugs and split into at least 4 parts, GIVE US THE OLD PLASMA COIL" thread for a long time. So it was bound to happen eventually.
