Fed Borg and current balance in 3.2.5
You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

You typically dont tech to Akira fast. You go with intrepids for the first few Assims and then switch to compensate multiple Assimbeams

Ok... i'm wondering... noone ever tried to go for the warp-in hybrid with 2 intreps + descent warpin?
The Descent is stronger than the assim-Assim (^^), does a huge damage, can keep up (faster), and can't be assimilated with it's crew count of 600. While chasing the Assim it should be quite easy to cycle through some intrepids.
Could it work?

Sorry Beserene, gonna have to call the creativity police in on this one - seems you've broken a law, and we just can't have that here
. No sirreee, if you suggest something different, you're gonna get jumped on in 3....2.....1....

Its the least worst idea I've heard so far. That having been said without playing some more I couldn't tell you if it actually will work.

In this case I would like to know as well what happens if the Borg mixes in Trop assims

Ok ok, no more weird strats. I already learned how to S2 spam...

@Drrr: not sure, but you would have one Assim with 45/50 (if not mistaken) against a descent with 35/74 and shield recharge, two Intrepids 22/20 or 19/24 each, a torp miss ratio of 20%, and more on their way - better run.
You can warpin up to two of them, so even if the enemy has 2 Assims, he can't do much, actually he can do even less since you can kill one of them more easily, while he still can't do what he is supposed to do.
Main question remains: what happens once he get's a critical mass of Assims.
Or combine with Funny's idea, and spam Saber + Descent.
In the end it could still depend a lot on the map you play. Duel II with it's nebulas can be quite an advantage for the Assim-Borg.
just my 2 cents.

Ive seen a Fed player try Descents, it didn't work that well.
Of course by that point crit mass was allready there for the borg, and we just ignored the ships and assimd starbases (5 assims can gobble up a starbase pretty fast on a single charge)

If they go Torpedo Assims, that's why you get a few monsoons.

There's no reason to go anything but two assim 1 regen assims for the assim avatar, at least in normal gameplay.

The regen generally isn't strong enough. Go for 2 auto Assim, and one nanite.

Or Beam vs. Monsoon / Saber spam, or Torpedo vs. plattform / fast tech buildups.
Don't forget the shiny "passives" borg units may get.
Btw. Funny: if you got time i would love to test your Saber strategy. Some people tried it, but all of them failed.

My saber strat tends to depend on the other player, if I can keep pure saber I will, if the other player techs up I'll tech up too, and usually get left alone long enough to do it too (depends on team mates).
The problem is that the sabre just sucks so bad when compared to other races starting ships, stat wise.
Now, here's the stats from the guide, for ships that require no research, build the yard and you get them.
off. def. sys. weapon type weapon range speed crew
Sabre- 11 12 5 B Long 110 40
VET Sabre- 18 27 6 (for arguements sake)
K't'inga- 11 10 4 B Medium 130 50
B'rel- 15 11 5 P Short 140 30
K'beajQ- 19 19 7 B Medium 120 85
Bug- 14 11 6 B Medium 130 55
Rhienn- 14 13 9 P Long 120 60
Borg Probe-18 18 9 B Medium 130 275
Scube- 20 20 10 B Short 140 500
So yeah, the Sabre is basically a klink miner with popped pods and one extra def value, not only that but it's the SLOWEST no-research ship out there* (not counting the borg ships, as the borg have to build that single station to be able to build combat ships at all).
*speed values may have changed, dunno if the guides up to date.
