More about extended mod support
I'd like to give some more technical background info to people interested in modding about the upcoming extended modification support that we'll include with Fleet Operations (as if it wasn't enough to read the last time).
File functions, Mods and the Patch Project
With Fleet Operations steadily growing over the years in complexity, we as developers and you as players more and more feel the age of Armada 2's underlying structure. This gets especially obvious if you want to play a multiplayer game.
3.2.1 hotfix
So, as one crash bug slipped through all the intense testing we did for version 3.2.0, here is a hotfix for a annoying bug that seems to occour on some systems.
Fleet Operations 3.2.0
The next installment of Fleet Operations is now live. After 4 month of development 3.2.0 is here!
Move to new Server - Today's downtime
You may have noticed, that when you tried to visit fleetops.net today you only encountered a blank page. But not to worry, we just transferred the site to a bigger server to accomandate the increased visitor numbers (thank you ) since the last server move in 2007. The whole process took longer than we initially expected, but now everything seems to be running smooth again.
Fleet Operations 3.1.4
We are happy to announce that we have a new patch ready for public release - 3.1.4.
Fleet Operations 3.1.3 released!
Some of you may heard it already: one focus we've developed Fleet Operations on is multiplayer. When Armada 2 was released in 2001, its online playing capabilities were nothing too extraordinary for its time. However, it is remarkable that even now after nearly 10 years its online channels over at GameSpy still weren't just turned off like it happend quite a lot with much newer game titles.
Fleet Operations 3.1.2
Initially we planned the 3.1.2 release to focus on fine tuning the new balancing system introduced with 3.1.0 and only have few new features with this version. However due to some technical issues we were facing with the previously announced new weapon effects we had to push the release date back till now, which left us a lot more time to integrate some more new stuff in this version than we had originally in mind.
Call 3.1.1 Emergency
First of all, thanks for all your feedback for the 3.1.0 release. Thanks to everyone who gave us their thoughts on this version and also to those who reported all the little bugs. I guess the biggest flaw in 3.1.0 were for some the non working save game function. This and other bugs should all be covered by the 3.1.1 patch we are releasing today. Despite 3.1.1 is more of a maintenance release to 3.1.0 we have also a few new features integrated notably the new phase armor plate upgrade for the Romulan Rhienn class. Four maps from our community maps forums have been added with this patch. Thanks Boggz, Chris and funnystuffpictures!
Fleet Operations 3.1.0
I guess some of you have been waiting some time for this - the patch with the longest development span since the release of Fleet Operations 3.0 is now available for download.
