Hm, odd, all my abilities work on free tech mode...

Were you testing them on friendly targets?

Has anyone else noticed that the game seems to lag a bit more especially during fleet battles? My games have seemed to start lagging about mid game and get worse from there. It was not doing this prior to 3.1.0.  It has occurred in  a 2 person against 1 AI over my LAN which is about the only way I play. Just wanted to see if anyone else has encountered this?

I think the new version actually runs better... or at least no worse than previous versions. Have you changed anything H/W? S/W? could be change in Net code because I have only played Instant Action so far with the new Patch but even that is a wash for me because I can't save and I don't have the time to fight through an entire scenario all in one sitting.

Not against friendlies.  I just tested again with both avatars and everything is fine now.  The scout cube I had wouldn't do transwarp and wouldn't lay a sensor relay, but now everything is fine.

Another thing I've noticed (maybe it's just me), but some of the buttons feel "sticky".  I have a lot of trouble switching my dominion construction ships to supply mode, and back again.  I've also had this problem on other buttons that do replace weapon commands, such as the galaxy and norexan's special.  Sometimes they work fine and sometimes they don't.

I think it has a cooldown like the ability of the saber. If I wait some seconds it works fine.

Yeah it has a cooldown but I agree with Mal, a lot stickier than before.

No, that's just it I haven't changed anything except installing the new game. Maybe it is a change in the Net code?

Yeah, I should have been more specific.  I wasn't meaning the cooldown.  The dominion constructor shouldn't have any cool down for its ability, anyway.  I'll press multiple times and nothing will happen. :(

I think it would have a cooldown Mal, because otherwise you could make it immune to holding beams and auto assimilation beams and combat tractor beams etc.

Hmm two more things.

First - when I click on a moon it only displays the pic of the moon and a hull integrity meter in the display area - no text saying 'This is a moon' although technically none is needed.

Second - I play as the Borg and I have noticed that when I tell a fleet (esp of assimilators) to turn around instead of just spinning around and keeping their current formation the formation spins around and the ships start trying to go over and under each other to keep their position. In fleets with other vessels (spheres, cubes) with assimilators this has the effect of making some ships just stop moving and they remain where they are while the rest of the fleet moves off. Kind of annoying when I want the fleet to help fend off an attack in my base.  :sweatdrop:

As for sticky buttons I will be keeping an eye out for them too. ^-^

Well if you haven't researched it yet when those ships were produced.. it becomes a re-fit.

Yeah, all that stickiness is a cool down. The Dominion constructors have a 10 second delay because it was so easy to abuse their switch (making them invulnerable to anything really). I think a 5 second delay would have been enough though.  :sweatdrop:

Yeah, noticed it... not very good :(

How about we get a 3rd option. So we don't have to 10 second cool down to go from construction to supply mining. One more button is all I ask because changing from construction to supply feels like it takes away from the game when I have to baby sit my supply miners.

I do feel an additional bug is that our first construction yard now lacks a solid hitter unless I'm playing Breen. Puretech used to have A24s that kicked butt, but now they are too slow to keep away and too fragile to use most of the time. I don't know what the answer is but capping our war frigate at 10 limits the Puretech avatar heavily. Unless we just completely mass A20s.

I think the Dominion just needs a few more passive abilities (and that extra vessel that's been promised perhaps) in order to come into its own. Right now all early game Dominion units are quite easily countered by Borg, Federation, and Klingon units.
