This actually looks really good, I always said that Bridge Commander would have been better as a mix with Elite Force. This looks like what they are doing... I can't wait to try this.

The physics scare me... when two starships collide, they don't "bounce" like that... and the Defiant should be able to fly thru the D'Deredix... heh... it did it on DS9 before :)

Other than that, lookin HOT!

Actually, ships and debris has "bounced" off other objects with shields on TNG (ships) and Nemesis (debris) before :P . I don't see how the Defiant could have flown through the D'deridex without the ship first losing shields of course :P

You mean other than cutting the shields a few seconds before entering, then bringing them back up after leaving? Shields can be lowered when they want.

Same as losing shields for all practical purposes - either way, you are completely unprotected for those few seconds :P

Combat is all about taking the risk... and Worf was in command when that event happened, you know he'd take that risk.

I'm sure the D'deridex captain would have minded - given a choice  . All Worf has to worry about is the off chance one of those beams or torps will magically hit his blessed hero's hull - the D'deridex is a big piece of canon fodder!

Yes, the shields can deflect fragments and such... but two ships wouldn't just BOUNCE like that... the'd collied, the shields would likely overload and fail, and *crunch*

Maybe :) . It's Star Trek, depending on the writers - anything can happen  :pinch:

I'd hardly consider that a Star Trek trait, inconsistancy is pretty much the only thing consistant for all fiction...

Indeed, but some realms are much less consistent than others - especially given how large a franchise Star Trek is, it is hardly unexpected that there is much inconsistency I think.

We should keep in mind that this is NOT the final version, and that may have just been for testing purposes. I would imagine that the final version will not act like that in the game.

when 2 ships crash, with shields on, they dont "bounce", they get harmed. this was also often shown in the series and in the movies.

and btw... it looks better when they crash and lose parts...... :woot:
