the screens really look promising, i just cant believe that this is made by a few modders and that everything planned is really possible.... but i wish you all luck on earth that it works out like you planned it, cause it looks n sounds like hella fun :)

Yep, that's the one. But if you didn't really care then you shouldn't really have posted in the first place.
I should that I do agree with you for most other games (especially fps, for example), it's just that Armada & FO are a special case

just out of curiosity what do you base your models off of because they are very good. Do you have some kind of model or are they just pictures???

Nice, well I think here and there may come some texture improvements and a bit more lightning, the models are great.

Is there a hint on how about fights between ships are going to be? Will it be like SFC or more like Klingon Academy?
I love details and subsystems from the direct way.

And to my shame, I must say, that I never played bridge commander. So I dont know...

i barely remember klingon academy, but if im recalling correctly it was much more indepth than bridgecommander.  you could beam troops onto the other ship and different ships had different weapons.  the largest federation and klingon ships had assault phasers on them.  the only downside i remember from KA was that is was a micromanaging nightmare if you used all the aspects of it.  bridge commander simplified it almost to much but it was easier to play.  i happy medium would be perfect, or even various options from "arcade" style which would be minimal micromanaging all the way to "simulator" which would give you all the bells and whistles.

Has anyone played Battlecruiser 3000 AD or Millenium or Universal Combat?

In those games you command a starship (On Millenium and UC you can choose a carrier, cruiser or freighter), take care of your crew, buy supplies, roam throught the galaxy, patrol the sectors. Bridge Commander should have been made like those game.

If anyone wants to try it, you can download the full game free on 3000AD Website

Well, I love the micro-management of klingon Academy.

You were able to set up macros and with 8 of them your ship was able to recall every setting for every situation you might be in. You only had to remember these 8 slots, that was it.

The advantage of klingon academy was, that you had seperate systems on your ship. The hull was splitted into sections, it was possible to kill the warp engines, propulsions of the impulse engine, you were able to beam over marines, you could targed enemy weapon systems, use nebulars, planetary rings, warp inside a system, make planetary assaults... I dont know where to stop.

I'd love to see a new introduction of this genious battle-system from Klingon Academy. If combined with bridge commander arts, like a full interior of a ship, you might break the frontier of gameplay-realism.

forgot about the macros.  probably to lazy to set them up.  to be honest i didnt use alot of the extras anyways like the marines.  since i was playing a klingon and i wanted to see pretty lights, you have to blow up the enemies ship.

Hehe, because you are a klingon, you use everything on you ship.

Like General Chan said: Everything on a warship is a weapon. If you only take your weapons as attack-option, you are very fast out of options. You can use assault-tractors, mines, transporter-rooms for marines, hot plasma as explosive and so on.

Only a tactical skilled commander can call himself a klingon. Anyone else is ... dead. Thats the spirit :-)
