I will soon man. I just moved into a new place and it doesn't have internet. I'm at a coffee shop right now doing some work and reading the forums every now and then. I'll start playing soon, as I'm a little rusty right now and want to get my FO mojo back.

Ray, if you are so passionate about the Galaxy, maybe you could attempt to mod it in? Only a thought. I agree, Saucer Seperation should be added, but it's not disaster if it isn't.

although you may find it hard to belive, the purpose of the post was not to argue again for the galaxy, i was actually going to leave, cus i was just tired of fleetops, getting my ass kicked, and not being able to play as the feds, and being tired of borg for a few reasons which i can explain if you wish,
i actually was going to leave, but then i watched one of yandons replays, where i played as klingons and remember that was fun, so now im having fun and i came back, and im actually having alot of fun, i think klingons are my favorite race, see to me this was the thing
borg: sure i could kick most peoples asses with them, but i got a little tired of them; no rank up, and i found that they seemed a little repetitive, they just didnt seem to exciting (no offense devs)
feds: i love them, i used to always play them, but for some reason, everytime i play as them i get my ass kicked, (plus no cloak can be a little frustrating when facing cloaking races) idk maybe i need dom to show me how to play as feds like he did a couple of years ago
romulans: never really played them, theres so many different refits, while i liked the cloak and like the sneaky aspect, i just havent ever really tried it out
dominion: i think ive only played as the dominion a maximum of maybe 3 times, however id like to learn them
klingons: cloak, kinda straightforward, idk klingons just fit
so once i realized that i came back

u get your arse kicked as feds

come on how can u lose as feds?!?
FREE AWESOMESHIPS
cheap buildable awesomeships
cheap awesome turtle shell turrets that u can build early on.
ventures for good cloak detect.
and plenty of really useful specials.
losing as feds is a challenge.

Intrepid, unless facing long rangers, supports, or heavy use of destroyers then go Monsoon. Akira is good, but it takes over 100 seconds to build and is somewhat slow (110, while Intrepid and Monsoon are 130 and 140) compared to the other Antares ships, so it isn't too great until midgame.

I have trouble as feds too, and I lose often. I go for the monsoon / intrepid start but I can never get enough ships and Im always out produced. Even when using the proper counters. I played several games 1v1 against Elim and each time I was thoroughly walloped. He and I werent really sure what I was doing wrong, lol.
Seemed when he was dominion he would have 5-6 bugs when I had 1-2 intrepids - That small fleet with good scouting could strike either my attempt to expand or where ever my small fleet wasnt. Warp in strikes to hurt his economy almost always ended in disaster, he would use his local fleet to prevent too much damage, then strike with his fleet abroad to really put the hurt on. He had me trying to put out too many fires. Just great play all around.

Don't worry about numbers of ships against bugspam, make sure the moment a ship has less than half shields you click on it and press r. With good retreating, even two Intrepids can kill five bugs.
Don't build sabers, that was one mistake I saw you doing recently in the match where the Borg and Klinks obliterated us. It is also helpful to scout out an enemy base by getting just close enuff to see the yard and mining. Yet another mistake you made in that match was teching to Akiras, that is okay as Risner, but Intrepids take reduced damage from K'BeajQ and Spheres (counter options better than teching.) Akiras also have long build times so lower tier ships are better for replacing lost units if you need a large fleet.
For warpins, you should send your main fleet to meet up with them (tell them to come before clicking to warp) as backup so that you have a larger force, while your phaser platforms take care of defending your mining (always build at least one platform and then later upgrade it when u hav the extra 440 some res.)
Phaser platforms should be built up next to a dilithium moon, so close that the miners will block construction if you don't build it right as they are on the other side of the moon.
Once u hav about 1000+ dilithium with ship production you should either build some phaser platforms for extra defense, a second yard, or both.
Keep at least two ventures at all times, for both scouting and cloak detect. The more ventures the better as smart opponents will kill them to reduce your scouting or cloak detection and the cloak detect takes a long time to recharge.

feds should easily defend their mining until mid game by using turrets.
thats why i dont like making them. feds are more challenging if you ignore their turrets.
at the start u can make either monsoon or intrep. some are better in certain situations, but neither is bad. both are fast enough to escape early on. both have direct damage specials.
if u dont wanna leave yourself with a fleet of 1 type of ship, mix the two. both are good ships and wont fail.
with warpins, just learn where to strike for max benefit.
if they are splitting their fleets to defend all places, then bring your fleet and warpin to same spot and crush a smaller fleet.
if they attack, warpin to their mining if u can defend.
warpins are free ships
so u will never be losing if u kill at least 1 miner.

Thanks for the tips guys, Ill try em out when I have an opportunity - I think my overall main weakness is micro. I let too many ships die.
@ Neb - I totally blew that game - I got distracted while in the lobby clicked ready to launch (but I really wasnt) The game started and I didnt even know who my team mate was. So in the scramble to catch up I didnt scout and then I teched a little too fast. Most of the suggestions you made I usually do I just royally screwed up that game. My Step father had surprise visited and I dont see him much he lives 400 miles away. He hadnt seen the place my wife and I were staying in so I had to give the tour and chat with him a bit. Mostly my fault but I should have told you guys while we were still in the game lobby, so we could avoid poor gameplay and pissing off my partner. Sorry mate.

I feel like saying "Good Bye" too, its because no one here really seems to want to help me out or understands that I have certain circumstances that make it harder to complete and create this mod project. I came here for help and now I'm not even getting any. I know almost everyones answer is to uninstall and start over, but the same errors that I've reported happen at different times in a started over versions of the mod.It randomly happens at different times.
Can I please have some modding help with my mod? I am already a month behind with this project and class, even though starting over might be what you think is best, because it won't be like 2.5 years to fully complete the mod, it will put me behind in everything that my class is having all of us students do when it comes to game designing.
Sorry for any inconvienance this might cause you all, but I'm only asking fo help to stay on schedule. What would you all want me to do, get to the point the semester ends and then start over and subtract parts from the mod? To be honest I won't do that because I have a plan that involves all the additions that I'm putting into the game and they all have their purpose. I wouldn't have downloaded them if I didn't have a plan for them or want to use them.

Jet - once again you are missing the point completely. There are many people here who would be willing to help but people don't necessarily have the answers. The people who could perhaps help the most are the devs and they have their own project to consider first, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, etc.
What do you want? Lots of posts from every member who logs on saying "Sorry jet, i would love to help you but i don't know how to fix this one" If people can help they probably will.
As nobody has been able to help you with most of your problems then it probably means that you are on your own. This is not completely unusual. Few few people would be willing to download someone else's mod or even a few files and go through them with a fine toothcomb looking for that missing quote mark or syntax error, or researching why X does not work with Y. Amazingly enough, we all have our own lives outside of gaming (well, most of us do) and are not always willing or able to expend lots if time helping others.
I'm sorry to say it but I can't help but feel you have a serious attitude problem with the expectation that others only exist to serve your needs. People here have been on the whole most welcoming and you have had quite a few responses to your problems even though they have not been so helpful in solving your issues. If you no longer wish to be part of the community that is fine, but please don't bitch about the lack of help.
One thing I never could figure out is whether this project you are doing is for a technical course or some sort of art/literature project (I wondered this because of your book you are writing), or something completely different.
One thing I can say though is as someone who works in a software development company, have been a project manager, and has worked as a senior manager in a global IT company, with the attitude you have displayed you will never survive as a developer in the real world.
I once again suggest you reevaluate your project and what you are trying to achieve. Flexibility is one of the key points of software development. Sometimes you hit a brick wall and have to work around things because there is no direct solution, and sometimes there is nobody who can help you.
I've tried to be nice, and i've tried to offer friendly advice and assistance, but all i hear is whining from your side. I said early on that you would have to work hard to build up a good reputation as you arrived under a black cloud and got off to a bad start. Well, your reputation in my eyes has just hit rock bottom.
I wish you luck in getting your project finished.
