Where the New Orleans will go, I don't think has been decided. Probably got an equal chance of being a map unit as it does a Warp-In.

I really like the look's of this ship, but if you play Borg Incursion its a mere construction ship. FEDERATION SIDE. Still i do like the look's hope to see it in this game, and as a warp-in.

I've seen the Construction-varient of Centaur Class. It looks weird compared to most versions of the Centaur.

Jetfreak included that version with a retexture in one of his retex-packs. However, since all models of the Centaur available at FF are just kitbashes of Excelsior-models and don't really look like it.

Nice work... The ship looks great!
As another possible warp in I would like to see the Prometheus class. You saw that ship for example in the last episode of Voyager. You already have it in the mapeditor. I'm well aware that this ship with the original "splitting to 3 pieces" idea is causing crashes. Well avoid it by making it just a normal ship without the splitting feature. it's a nice beauity and simply fantastic to look at. It shouldn't be laying around unused in the map Editor.
One thing about the new warp ins worry me however. The more ships fed gets for their warp ins the less chances the player will get to get a Steamrunner or any other ship for example. All those great ships are already really rare related due balancing questions. Anyway I would hate it to see no more Steamrunners or or Galaxys etc just because there are like 10 possible warp in ships.
If it would be becoming like that then I would rather go without the new warp in ships "my opinion only". Or simply add 2 new ships to every race. Probably to much work and causing even more balance issues not sure.
Or you guys could make it so that 4 fed ships are jumping in instead of 3. Therefore the SFC will be a bit more expensive or needs longer to be created. Or needs like 25 or 50 seconds more before you can call new ships in again. I'm again not sure how that would do affect the balance.

The ships are a weighted random so it wont change from what i read the chances of getting this ship is pretty rare so no the steamie is not going away.

yeah the warpins ships are uniform distributed, they have their own probabilities. the excel 1 is obviously very likely as it is a common ship. ambsasadors are less likely but still are around, galaxies are not that likely, and nebs are in the middle. centaur will be rarer i think because we didnt see many. presumably the excel and mirandas were cheaper/easier to refit.
also steamy will be going into a separate artillery support warpin button in the future. so you can request dedicated artillery support.

Like the Centaur, but too bad all the good TNG/DS9 ships get made warp-in.

Some people people see that as an weakness i see it as a strength.

@23down
The chances for getting a particular ship as warpin are the same every time you hit the "call" button. They don't depend on the previous ships you got or on the ships you have.
And don't forget that when a warpin ship gets to double gold, it no longer counts towards the 10 warpin limit, well except the proto. I managed to acquire in a long session versus the AI 10 galaxies and 6 steamrunners, all of them double gold.

A very beautiful well done ship. I can watch it and watch it and I just think of how painstakingly long it took. Not to sound corny but its probably one of the best Centaurs I've seen out there.

Tyler,
I'm not sure how much you want to remodel the details of the Centaur, now that you are finished, but the Centaur (or USS Buckner) was a personal model I made when I was working on DS9 for Paramount Pictures. Gary Hutzel saw it and wanted it for his episode and it saved the studio designing and building a new ship. As the model wasn't originally designed to be shot, it was solid, so we added some additional detail, UV tape and UV paint and Gary shot it. It was later used in the background of several episodes for that season, primarily around the Space Station shot by myself and David Stipes.
I can take some photos and forward them on to you.
The main problem with the reference I see (Encyclopedia?) was the folks from the Art Department dropped by the model shop when no one was there and they missed some specific details. The main one was that the size of the Centaur is based on the Reliant/Miranda roll-bar and Bridge, not the dish. The Excelsior dish was used as it was a nice small dish for a small fast craft. The nacelles we from the Excelsior as well, but they were collapsed down to just the top and bottom bits, to make a long sleek shape, and were not meant to represent any part of the Excelsior. The Centaur was meant as a deep intruder with lots of details representing boost to the engine speed and long range sensors... or so I saw it.
The model in in my attic, but drop me a line and I'll see if I can dig it out.

I for one would love to see some pictures!
Its awesome to have someone who actually worked on the original model take notice in our little corner of the web.

Seems I made a faux pas. I should have addressed Overlord Zeich! My bad!
Here is the one pic I have on hand, but it's not very close or detailed, in the sense of modeling reference. Many of the colors are boosted for capture to 35mm film and are later balanced in composting. I've sent additional details to O. Zeich, which I'll post when I get the time.
Hope this helps!
