Zeich why didnt you start with your excelsior model for this after all they are much the same ship?

A few reasons, first being that the Excelsior and the Centaur are actually not that much the same.  On the surface the Centaur feels like an excelsior kitbash, but the saucer has enough slight differences and the nacells are actually completely different.  The second reason is mesh topology.  Starting from another model can be convient, but how the bridge section intersects with the rest of the saucer can make for some strange vertices.  So I would rather start from scratch than use another mesh who already has its topology messed around.  Lastly, it does not make for a good show .

hehe true was just wondering because when i was attempting my mesh i did a bit of reading and i found that the saucers were much the same.

After viewing that....... I'll never beg for a new model again just for detail problems....... I need to get a modeling program for myself.

What is the program you are using? Looks nice and professional.

Though I likely can't afford a 100+ dollar license. So I guess I am stuck with waiting on pros.

Yeah, he's using Maya (from Autodesk) and a full license costs $4000+, but I think he's using the student version. If you want to try your hand, take a look at modeling software called Blender. It's free, open source 3d modeling software. The latest version (2.56a) pretty good, though it's still in beta. The last stable release (2.49) has a bit of a learning curve and a poor interface. Even 2.56 isn't anywhere close to being as good as Maya or 3ds Max, but for free, it's the best you could ever hope for.

This looks great.

Now if we could just get a Miranda or Soyuz as another really rare warpin. Prehaps a Constellation class.

Will the centaur be a ship like the decent, 50/50 chance to get either a decent or centaur or will this just be another ship for the 3 warps ins?

I think there needs to be a more offense oriented ship for risner instead of the decent as that is very defensive.

I dont think the centaur will be on the same level as the decent after all it is as old as an excelsior. It doesnt fit the description of being an experimental warpin. The way that i understand it its going have a rare chance of replacing one of the 3 ships from distress call.
