If i could award a man of the match though I would give it to Boggz.  I know, strange giving it to someone on the loosing side, but his tenacity and play was very good I think.... just a shame Clint won the early game against him.

Of course well played to Clint and Stardust.

Hehe yeah, I don't think I'll ever rush to B5's again. Only Elim seems to be able to pull it off.

I learned soon after that match the beauty of dropping a ping on a Romulan fleet though...

Did the commentor call the B-5's research special the one that boards? Sounds like a mix-up.

I think you should make less B-8 and and more S-2 and Breen Battleships

I can only pull off Breen ships when vs Romulans (and sometimes feds) really. When vs Klingons I find bugs + t15's work miracles until the Vorchas come out. In that match I tried to combine Elim's B5 rush with a B8 rush and it didn't work too well late game sadly. That and the stupid prototypes like to run off even when set to green autonomy.  :whistling:

I dont understand first sentence

Its only my theoretical jibba jabba but if you made atleast 4 Breen Battleships it could win you match. Those things have sick DPS,long range and very strong shields and hull. You should build some the first time you saw warbirds

In other words I can only win a match online through the use of Breen ships if I am playing against a Romulan or Federation player, as the Breen Cruiser can tear trough Leavahls, frigates, and an assortment of the larger federation ships. Breen Cruisers do not shine much against Klingon players in my time online, as most Klingon players Kvort rush and those tear through Breen ships like a hot knife through butter. The optimal counter to Kvorts is T15's. There was no way in that match I could have produced Breen Battleships in sufficient numbers as by that point I was terribly low on resources. By the time it took to research the dampening missile and finish the prototype Boggz and I would have lost earlier then we did.

Agreed.  Boggz played awesome despite being double teamed and K'tinga rushed.

What the game shows you is how powerful a Romulan can get if he is left alone with full expansion mining...

Hahah don't worry about that :D.  You were listening to my advice very well and doing your very best.  That's the way to get better and that's what makes people wanna play with you again ^-^

  Haha thanks, Clint :).

Yeah it's tough to recover from being rushed by 2 players when one of them Ktinga rushes :D.  It's a nasty strat indeed :).  I think I did a pretty good job though of keeping the damage inflicted on myself and you pretty equal.  Even if I couldn't take on your combined fleets I tried to make sure that I was eating your miners at the same time.

I kinda figured that TUN would not be able to take Star, so I assumed I'd have to at least keep you penned up in your base while I tried to help him :D.  Game was LOTS of fun overall though :D.  I hope that people can see how best to use B'rels from that game :).  I tried to make sure people could see the "wolf-pack" tactic as well as decloaking your B'rels once an enemy begins to cloak so that you can keep one of them visible

  Excellent commentary as usual :D

The game definitely shows how you should play when you have the smaller fleet.  Only engage when you know you can win or at least get a draw.

Or when you're screwed and want to go down fighting...

Wow, that was some really good play by boggz, he and tun nearly turned it around in the middle of the game i thought, but that second engagement, on the enemy klingons expasion really killed them finally....
posted on September 29th, 2010, 6:10 am
Yep that second attack really put the nail in the coffin.

Star had been doing a good job of splitting his forces like I was.  He was keeping my main mining under attack while using his Birds to destroy TUN.  I had lost track of the Birds so I was hoping we could cripple Clint with a 2 on 1 before Star could come help.

Ah well, a good game to showcase how to play when you're against very aggressive players and split forces :).

Yeah it looked like the game was over early on, but then you guys started to mount a comeback, and i think nearly succeeded,

One thing tho tun, you lost valulable time early on, with your unsurity between using the escort cruisers or not..... actually i was surprised you didnt go breen cruisers, which you seem to like alot
posted on September 29th, 2010, 6:46 am
Well we didn't know that Star was going battleships.  We didn't have the best scouting going on because ALL my resources were put into shipbuilding and desperately trying to keep an expansion up.  The B-8's were actually a great choice against Shrikes and Rhienns.  Too bad that he didn't try to capture ships more ^-^.

Yeah the comeback almost happened when we managed to separate their fleets.  Sadly Star had far more than we expected :D

Waaaay more then we expected  :sweatdrop:
Just goes to show how critical of a mistake it was for me to not harass mining + get cloak detection out. I learned how epic cloak detect was when i dropped a ping on Ray and Clint to good effect in some later matches.  :shifty:
