In addition to the talk about Sensor platforms:

  I like to put them just outside of the immediate vicinity of a mining station or whatnot.  Sensor Plats from Klingons and Feds are both very cheap, so placing them in harms way does one of several things:

  1.  It reveals an incoming fleet.
  2.  It forces an incoming fleet to avoid it.
  3.  It forces an incoming fleet to attack it, thus giving you time to react ad ruining their surprise .


  All of these options result in one thing: you force them to play the way you want.  It limits the options they have and benefits your strategy and response.  I think people tend to place them right on top of their moons and such when they should be farther out.

Cheap Klingon and Fed sensor platforms, FTW.  It was cool how that phaser turret survived with 2 health in that first skirmish with it.

i swear i turned that bloody effect off. wlmm actually tried to do black and white on the video itself. no idea why it randomly assigns stupid effects to stuff. will make sure to double check next time, deleted the raw video already. thanks for pointing it out   i attached the screenie to the post anyway

Well at the time of the raid I was hoping to lead some ships into the turrets' line of fie, but obviously that didn't work

Ray, can you upload one long video for a replay instead of separating them some time soon? Youtube will remove time limits for select people who are in good standing (no copyright trouble and such) with them. Or could you send your replays to someone who does have a time-limit free account?
The sudden breaks in the action are even more annoying now that some other replays show the whole match continuously.

he has expressed a desire to do so, problem is youtube admins havnt given him the ability yet. maybe his account isnt old enough, he certainly seems to follow the youtube rules. i do hope they lift the restriction on him soon. that way all replays can be single videos.

I know that youtube has given the ability to some people to upload very long videos, i do not have this ability, but hopefully i will soon, as it would be alot easier.  Until that happens do, deal with it, or dont watch my replays, because im not going to upload my replays to another account.

Also as a note, all future replays will be in a 1280*720 apect ratio, so my video quality, is going to be pretty good for youtube now, Yay!

Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie!!!   When I was your age we didn't have replays.  Just puppet shows where we drew pictures of starships on our thumbs to retell the story of a battle.

Yeah, well when i did it in 4:3 ratio, in fulscreen it did okay... windowed it did horrible, but i finally figured out how to do it i 720p, windowed and no black boxs, although its pretty difficult to record on my screen as in order to get the right ratio, the game takes up the full lenght of my screen but under half the height so its a little tricky, but hey, its not how it looks when i record it, but how it looks when people see it
