That's actually pretty common in quite a few places... doesn't prove you weren't raised in the woods.

@boggz and alpha, i dont think drrrrrr realised alpha line was being sarcastic.

there is a balance to be found in fleetops. finding it requires practise, its hard to read it from the guide. if you expand too fast you dont have enough ships, go too slow and again you dont have enough ships.

I personally have found that 5 mins into the game is a great time to expand.

Drrrrrr, I've met many Germans, and have had the pleasure of meeting various other cultures around the world. Almost every German I've ever met has forgone the more Prussian attitude (I think that's what it's called, correct me if I'm wrong.
) and is actually quite friendly. I do recognize frankness as being part of German culture, but even other Germans know when they're crossing the line between frankness and rudeness.
Butterbread, Optec, Doca, and other Germans don't come across this way. Why is it only one single person?
Anyway, some good replays out there. Ray has some others that he hasn't posted yet.

expansion times are different for different strats and different races.
a common klink strat is to expand immediately, without stopping miner production, queueing up both base and expansion mining at the start. it can fool opponents into thinking you are ktinga rushing them. they will prepare for ktinga rush and not for your real strat, which probably consists of bops. or you can choose to ktinga rush if they dont prepare.
for the borg most players go opti and make 2 probes then the exp miners, so fast expansion isnt that easy.
dominion players can expand stupidly fast. when you build a mining station it gives a free miner, the builder that made the station can then join the mining, which will get you up to most of your mining on that moon easily since the third miner only fills a tiny gap. so dominion can expand immediately with fewer miners.
roms and feds tend to be middle ground. with roms slightly slower since they struggle to defend.
EDIT: ninjad a couple times.
all the germans i met are just as friendly as the rest of the world. i guess every country has its unfriendly individuals.
also you guys are rubbish at football, you got lucky in the world cup ya hear! THAT BALL WAS AT LEAST A FOOT ACCROSS THE LINE DAMMIT.

i think it´s best to try out different things when you are expanding.
that way you will find out, what works and what don´t.
also: watching these replays helps ALOT!
@ Myles: i say justice has been done by the almighty gods of football - remember wembley 66? ;-)
well at least our national team plays good - other than that there´s only one club in the world: Manchester United FC!

Well thx Mal, but I am not sure if frankness is typical only for us Germans...?
But: I think, finally we are all people of this world and should act like people who want to live with each other...! (And no, I am not a pacifist!) Instead of (German) frankness, I would say that politeness to a person to which someone is talking to is the first attitude someone should have... But that is only my opinion...
And Myles: I suffered with Lampard too in that moment...!!! Germany was good, but it was pure luck, that England lost that game...
EDIT: Who is the best soccer player in the World: Messi? Xavi? Iniesta? Nope!
-> WAAAAAAYNE ROOOOOOOOOOONEY!!!!! Sorry Zebh!

Easy now, young Chapman. Replays are a tedious process. Getting a good game going can take up to 30 minutes; people with the attention span of a goldfish, arguing over teams, and general blase can all contribute to this. You also have to fight the masses of people who always want to observe but not play a recorded game, either because they're just that guy (Hi!), or because they want to be like Drrrr and immediately after the game go "OH. EM. GEE. You TOTALLY should have like, done X instead of Y, or scried, or like, duh!"
Regardless, this means you have to work hard to get a good recordable game done. Once you do, you have to (assuming Ray doesn't crash) get it uploaded. This takes (again, especially if you're Ray) quite a while.* All those little bytes and bytes add up to big upload times.
Or, it could just be because Ray won't let me co-commentate. In fact, I believe this can be firmly established under "why we can't have nice things".
*If you're Primi, it would take just shy of a week.
Thus endeth the pneumonia maybe pneumonia/medicine induced sermon.
