Yeh I concur- if you have 0 supply and lose Warpins then you're already not building new ships =D to replace anything. Warpins are great, but you're far better off to buy them supplies and get working on Akiras, Intrepids, or MOAR SABERS!!!!

Awesome replay. I'd wager that if you use sabers well, they could very well be a counter to B-5 rush.

(Warning! Wall of text!)
Sacrifical warpin will always be powerful for one reason or another. In this example, Boggz used the warping to essentially be in two places at once, with every intention of saving his ships. He used the warpin to attack the main base as a distraction to draw the bulk of the enemy fleet. While sutee was away, Boggz had a field day on the B-8s. After he was successful at that, he ran like the wind. He used the Gal and the Amba to lure the B-5s through the red nebula to detroy the bulk of the fighters so the sabers would stand a chance. A very good play by Boggz, although I personally believe he should have hidden in the green nebula where the fighters would have been useless. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the B-5s have an attack value of somewhere around 15-25. Basically, the fed shields would have been impenatrable, and the Saber cavalry could have saved the Galaxy and Excel-I.
But, nevertheless, it was a good game. The Saber rush worked beautifully, and props to sutee and Boggz playing a fun match to watch

i liked boggz strat too, personally i would have made 1 or 2 more intreps earlier than he did, mainly to serve as tanks for the medium range b5 (and hence its fighters whose range count as medium for passives), these intreps would have to be microd so that they engage first and take the heat, without any replaceweapons effecting them, and good speed, they would stand a good chance of getting away.
a canaveral (or two) also would hurt the fighters with its pulses. if he could get up to ec3m he could use a canaveral as a tank too. of course sensor blackout is always a good thing. another advantage of a canaveral is that its valid for cover fire.

Sensor blackout would have been exceptionally useful under the circumstances, considering how clustered fighters are. And at one point he was losing. I always try to make a point of building support whenever I'm losing, although the success of that... varies, to say the least. However, it would have undoubtedly been a good move here

Good thought Myles but that game was 3.1.4 where fighters were all still short range. It's hard to get Intrepids to tank for sabers because the sabers are much more attractive to auto-targeting.
Megaman TOTALLY got my intended use of the warpins
. They did relatively trivial damage but they drew Sutee's entire fleet away for a good game minute at the very least. Rawr!
About the Canavs- I considered getting a few, but really what I needed was speed to stay out of the way of the B5's themselves. I was also pretty locked on tritanium for quite a while and needed it to move up to the mighty E2's
. However, I do like Canavs a lot
. I think though that blackout would not be very effective because it would affect too many fighters and not enough B5's.
Woof... Typed all that on my phone!

Sensor Blackout (and other special abilities) do not affect fighters

Yarrr good to know!!!
I still think blackout might not have helped me all that much as so much damage was coming from the fighters which apparently are not affected by it

Do AoE weapons like Plasma Coil affect Fighters?

I don't know about any others but Plasma Coil does but Cascade Feedback doesn't, they're listed as invalid.

knowing that changes things indeed. sensor blackout probably wouldnt have been worth the cost as the fighters got nearly all the kills. the sabres could regularly escape the medium range of the b5. and the b8 isnt up to the task of chasing down a sabre.
which specials apply to fighters and which dont?

Heh, almost all of them do not affect fighters - I believe only Plasma Coil, Ketracel White and perhaps a few others do (I can't find any more though). I'm fairly certain it is not intended that either of those abilities apply to fighters - probably a bug, considering Field of Fire or Multi Targeting disruptor does not hit fighters for instance.

yep, certain users can go above 15. mal, yandon, myself i know for certain can. ray is working towards it, maybe his account is too new. he deserves it though. i think the criteria is that you follow the rules, and ray's replays are just like mine, so its probably just a time thing.
i'll be uploading 2 new replays today and tomorrow. havnt watched yandons latest replay yet, gonna do it tonight. also everyone give stardust your collective regen thoughts since he hurt his thumb.

Lol, I totally know why Star made Ktingas. He loves playing with bugs, and ktingas have the same speed, same range, and around the same values as an attack destroyer. So he was right at home with them.
