Also, remeber B8s have civillian fighter bays, which is a great bonus, as if you loose your b-5 you wont loose all of its fighters....

A question for boggs: If you intended a Saber spam from the start, then why didn't you choose Risner. Her Sabers have a better offensive value and rank up faster.

Mayson can put up his buildings faster and has a better E2 for the follow up, but those benefits were minute since you mostly supported your Sabers with Warp-in.

Maybe he went for durability over power?

as tyler says he wanted the defence to keep them alive. either choice would work probably.

they got rid of that a couple patches back, mayson builds at the same speed as risner now.

actually he got a couple e2s out, which helped smash the b5s.

Seems sacrificial warpin is still powerful, hopefully future patches balance it more.

Defensive warpin was interesting, it seemed to be just what Boggz needed to get critical mass. Sutee seems to have made mistakes again, and this time I have constructive criticism rather than just speculation on why he made mistakes:
Splitting up to run away can save more ships if the enemy can keep up with you.
Try to stay away from a double turreted mining backed up by a Fed fleet. Sure those miners are juicy, but they come at a price.

Even with those bad choices, Sutee did amazing with fleet micro (and yes, the repair line bug helped some, but he wouldve likely still done very well without it.) Even against massed cover-firing, Boggz-controlled, ranked-up, long-range ships he did well, that's quite a feat. Good job Sutee!

how do you figure that? boggz lost so much supply he complained using chat messages. those intreps he wanted to transition into cost quite a bit of supply too. killing warpins is definitely worth the effort of chipping away their large defensive values.

on a separate note, i didnt notice if sutee did bio warheads. would have been interesting combined with those b8s, life support going off would drain crew, then b8 is in an even better position to capture some sabres.

the old refit special (fighter energy cores i think) would have been handy, even though it was expensive, sutee clearly had the money as he made 3 perimeters lol. it would have crushed the poor turrets.

I was talking about the warpin he sent to Sutee's mining while Sabers engaged the middle. The chat stuff about having only 12 supply (down from 51 or 70 IIRC) was much later on. When Boggz lost that sacrificial warpin, he went down to 110 supply, but Sutee lost two B8s and at least one constructer that was making a supply station. I would gladly lose 70 supply to accomplish what Boggz did. Also, imagine if Boggz had sent his sabers up to a mining once the B8s were gone, rather than engage the B5s and die...

I didn't see any Bio-warheads either, I think they would've been very noticible if he had done them.

Maybe, but isn't a Saber rush all about getting long range fire power up fast. We all saw the video and plenty of Sabers were lost, but with some ranked up Sabers from kiting the fighters that B5 prototype may not have escaped so many times.

The balance could have shifted into Boggs favor earlier ingame. Middle yard taken out, supply pressured even further.. Sounds like a win for Risner to me.

I think if Sutee has begun to build more ships out of his small yard more frequently he might have been able to get me off balance and push me back enough.

The thing about the Sabers is that they're really pretty difficult to kill once cover fire begins going nuts.  They're also really hard to control as you probably saw because constant replaceweapons being triggered by Coverfire turning off and on causes many weird little issues of not obeying orders, returning from a repair order, as well as messing with Formation AI :(.

But ... it was super duper fun :D

Games like this show me just how balanced losing supply from lost warp ins is.  Go feds. :D

I agree the warpin is fine at them moment. Btw what happens if supply hits 0 and you still lose Warpins?

Shhhhh.....

We don't talk about that. :cloak:

Ok, I'll tell you. :D  Right now if that happened, you wouldn't lose any supply.  Technically exploitable, but it means you would have to waste all your warp ins while not building any ships, so it's not a super big deal. If I know Optec, he'll be working on a change for that anyway. :D

Did I see correctly that veteran Sabres no longer have their type XV phasers? If I remember correctly, they had 10 damage, times 2. This was quite powerful for such an early ship, but I can't remember reading anything about it in one of the last change logs.

i think it should be left like that, since if u are losing warpins while not building you're probably losing the game badly. also starfleet doesnt care much for debt collectors, so they would probably let you off since you have no supply left.

you do see correctly, they now have crisis suites.
