It looked like he wasn't paying attention a lot of the time. At one point he had a miner rally pointing to its doom (and it was about the fourth to do so by my count) while he was targeting a repairing ship. Later he beamed while cloaked and didn't seem to notice the scout stations pinging him, altho maybe he decloaked first but then that still would leave him shieldless with a fleet of kvorts nearby.

Well keep in mind ... Nebbie .... that playing as Romulans is one of the most micro / skill intensive things you can do in Flops. Combine that with playing against an extremely aggressive and skilled Klingon player (me
) attacking you from as many as 3 different areas at once sometimes and you will find your focus sometimes not in the right spot.
Keep that in mind.

I had that in mind, but I couldn't see where his focus was. It probably wasn't on his leahvals targeting a repairing ship, and wasn't on the miners going to their doom. Maybe he was setting up his second expansion right then His second expansion was up by then, so it wasn't that, I'll go rewatch the video. Possibly he was focusing on a miner going to base tri moon, but until he posts we'll have no idea what was distracting him.
And the thing with the leahvals beaming near ping stations was when you weren't attacking him.

Neb is saying that he would have totally clobbered Boggz if he had been playing 'cause he's so 1337.
Understand, oh wise one,
that it's a lot easier to make the call when you can --->see <--- the cloaked ships. It's a bit different when you're actually playing the game, with the pressure of it being recorded AND being a tourney game. Plus it's a bit nerve wracking when you're opponent is at the same level that you are. Both of them made mistakes that could have cost them the game, but they also played very well.
While you seem to want to focus on people's mistakes, it's important to recognize that that kind of negativity is not sought out by players who are being recorded. We want to remain positive, so that even if someone loses, they feel good about themselves and continue to be willing to have their games commentated. You don't commentate games, nor do you have a lot of videos where you are shown under the magnifying glass for all to see. So what exactly are you trying to contribute?
Please show a little more respect for those who are gracious enough to allow their games to be recorded. No need for all the negativity here.

yeah, you dont criticise the boggz for leaving that fleet of ships near the tri moon and the leahvals munched loadsa brels. i loved that move by sutee, it was fantastic to watch something one sided switch (almost). boggz's sensor net of scout stations really paid off.
cos you know boggz would turn caps lock on and shout you down
while sutee wont get so angry at you for picking apart his gameplay
i think they both played well in general, and as the boggz says, everyone makes mistakes. we're not robots.

Yup!
And especially when two strong players who both have cloaking races does the tendency to hesitate and make mistakes come up more often. There were times that I was out of position because I miss-guessed Sutee's position.
Same for Sutee

that was awesome. Sabers spam

Good work with the Sabers. The warpins were the right choice to support the sabers, must remember this.
The biggest issue with Sabers facing B5 in the beginning is to build a formation of 2 lines...1 for kiting fighters and 1 for killing them. The Sabers rank up much faster this way - otherwise the B5 is targeted first.
However, I do not understand why Sutee went B8 and T15? They have massive pulses sucking against Sabers and the bigger warpins. S2s could have changed the tide here imo.

s2 spam wouldnt have been hugely better since their torp would miss nearly half the time, even though they do more damage to the long range sabres. b8 pulses miss 15% (25% with hyper impulse) but do more damage in general, and dont get a penalty due to size on a small sabre. also the b8s give the fighters somewhere to go when the b5 is destroyed. i would definitely had built some s2 for the white though, especially since he had the tech lab built already.
about t15, i think he just needed a ship to build. the t15 has the pulse misses and does less damage to long range. but there isnt much else he could have built really.
fun game to watch. long repair line was funny.
EDIT: i wanted to see boggz destroy all three perimeters. i wonder if boggz noticed the third perimeter at the top right exp lol.

@Myles
The S2 spam would be a really strong counter towards the Warpins...since the S2 has nice torps and beam. The torps might not be that good vs the Sabers but the beam and the additional 50% damage (against e1, e2 and Saber) would be much better than B8s...and fighter bays are neglectable since the Sabers will take out fighters really soon.

Drrrrrr wrote:The S2 spam would be a really strong counter towards the Warpins
s2 is average vs warpins, it doesnt counter nor get countered. but the majority of boggz's fleet was sabres for quite some time.
as i described earlier, s2 gets a passive which helps against sabres, but misses with its torpedo, so the s2 ends up being average against the s2. not hard countering, not being countered. its speed would certainly help it stay alive though, and its special would help, but these advantages apply always, not just to this match.
b8s also are average vs sabres, pulses are good vs small ships, but miss vs sabres (especially when hyper impulse is on) b8 are also tougher. and can beam through their shields to capture sabres, which im surprised didnt happen as much.

thats not true, boggz did kill b5s, and their fighters get to stick around due to b8.
b8 and s2 were both ok choices, each with advantages, each with disadvantages.
