yup as mal says u can see in the replay

2 inter dodeca gets 2 green icons, 1 for liquidy torps, and 1 for the actual launcher itself.

inter/regens get 3, 1 for the liquidy torps, 1 for the launcher (which looks different as its a different launcher) and 1 for microtech (which all regen modules give)

i personally would have made the inter regens since they last longer.

its funny u went intrep to counter the whole borg race, he went dodeca to counter intreps, u went mons to counter the dodeca. the winner was the one who countered last. by the time the scubes came out u already had the swarm of mons that can 1 shot a retreating scube.

Well how about that :D.  I wonder if Mort did that by accident as I'm quite sure I heard him say after the game that they were int/Regen.

  Oh well ... Int/Regen or Int/Int, Monsoons Laff their damage away :lol:

@yandon I liked the idea of hearing the players .. but it may be a little difficult to balance the volumes of the 3 ppl. Because as is hearable (or not hearable) in the 2nd replay in the end its very hard to understand u.. ;)

Mort told me that they were Int/Relay just to clear things up ;) And Mort wins with Akira, Warpin, Avalon hybrid  :rolleyes:

Int/Relay modules wouldn't show icons any different to 2 Interception modules, and it does match the special energy the one in game had.

oh yes, inter relay does look the same as 2inter.

i never considered that since he never turned it into a turret.

the relay module may cost more to fit, but the +20 def is rather nice. 42 defence.

if he hadnt been firing against mons it would have been good.

its just a shame that once u choose a ship to counter as borg, u are stuck for a while, while boggz quickly switched between intreps and mons.

mort would have had better luck if he had gone for scubes and dodecas.

Ah, those two BvM matches were great.  When playing as borg I always have trouble adapting to enemy counters, but this made me realize the answer:

Since the dode-to-intrepid counter is so good, you should actually build more scubes and probes in the beginning while saving a bit of money so you can get dodes AFTER the enemy's dedicated to intrepids.  Can't really criticize though, as both of you guys' micro is better than mine.

I think I'm gonna hang onto that rom/fed replay as an example to show new players, since it very clearly demonstrates the balance between Romulans having few ships that don't die and Federation getting lots of ships that die all the time.  I think the answer to Mort's turret strategy would have been to expand to the other 2 moon pairs and mine ridiculous amounts of resources, since he was in no position to take them down.

You probably aren't using Fed ships right, they have high defense and good speed, so they normally last a long time except for Excel-1s.

What I usually do if Fed spams Intrepids is waiting till I have at least 30CC then I build 2 dodes to eat the built intrepids...no ships before the dodes.

thats what mort did, it failed as the second boggz saw the dodeca chasses building, he switched to mons after 2 intreps. so boggz can switch strats really fast, mort couldnt and got stuck with 2 dodecas that were doing half damage.

thats why i would have gone for 1 or 2 scubes, then 2 dodecas. as boggz would have made his intreps for the scubes, then the dodecas could hard counter the intreps, while by the time any serious numbers of mons come out, the scubes have finished regen after the intreps inevitably focused on them.

i would have skipped probes cos they are countered by intreps, and the scube is slightly better against mons.

for mort at the time they were needed as he needed some dps.

*cough* well, I DO completely suck at feds, but that's besides the point.  I meant that they lose a lot of ships compared to the other races I play (Romulans and Borg).
