I do not believe that the FO mod will ever be "done" the dev team is committed to FO for the long haul

They can't keep going forever, so it will end eventually.

I think its more likely that the game will become outdated, and computers will no longer be able to play it.  I think that will happen before the Devs stop modding it.  ^-^

you are of course assuming that FO loader wont evolve into a full blown game engine lol

As far as I know, the Devs have no plans to stop working on their baby - Fleet Ops ; it's their full blown project, and it has been for quite some time. Likewise, I highly doubt the game will become outdated so that it can't be played on computers - I can still play the very first computer games on my current modern laptop, and FO is constantly being given engine upgrades, unlike those older games :)

FO is like the TMP  Enterprises.  Still plenty of refits left, no need to decommission her yet!

So, an evil villain hijacks the mod and blows it up with a powerful device?

Or an alien probe robs it of power and they have to rely on solar energy to continue working?

Or Ben Sisko orders them to form up on the flanks of the defiant so that hundreds of crew can die so that his 50 or so crew can selfishly live? :pinch:

Or the Daleks show up...EXTERMINATE THEM! Then there'd be a massive Fed-Dalek war.

Yeah, I'm sure I won't stop playing it. It is too good. Though I might like the thought that they will have their own engine before Vista and Win 7 are outdated. Anyway, I'll be looking forward to the day when I see Fleet Ops on the PC Games Shelf at Best Buy, or GameStop.

Never heard of copyright? Besides, Activision allows companies to mod games, with the agreement they don't sell the product.
