to be more specific if u read the DITl site better you will See text in white is speculation and yellow is cannon therefore they have no useful info on the steam runner

all i can say is i prefer to think that the steam runner is a fast patrol ship

and akira is a heavy cruiser

in the FC battle, what would you say its role was?
Akira = heavy cruiser; Saber & Norway = Destroyer & Frigate; Steamrunner = ???

The akira is a heavy cruise and has 15 torp tubes is should at least fire sum or they should change the ship to something else

if the akira had torpedoes, it would be too powerful, and would make the federation quite unbalanced

disagreed. important would be the sum of damage out of torps and phasers. If they are going to implement torps they would weak phasers. RTS however stand in conflict with their originals ( movie, series ) 50 % RTS 50 % real StarTrek. You need to compromise.

if they add torps, weaken phasers-- whats the point? the feds already have that, times two, intrepids and remores

also take in the fact that they can shoot down torpedoes, no its just too much

like i keep repeating, just switch the standard weaponry of the intrepid & akira around then balance is preserved :rolleyes: .

and the point is ... what.. exactly... if you just switch the weaponry? so a small ship now has powerful phasers, and a medium ship now has weaker phasers but also torps. seems fine the way it is

don't know what to think actually. cept the akira needs torps.

I thought his point was to swap the intrepid and akira around in terms of torpedos so basically, intrepid has tricobalts and weak phasers and the akira has strong phasers and photon torpedos.

This would make more sense to me and I think it would work quite well

thank you. at least one other person gets it. plus with that special avatar, you could make it so that the intrepid/akira benefits are reversed.

u need to make the intepids realy fast , shoot tri cobalts , and go through nebulaus undameged?
posted on December 8th, 2005, 6:53 pm
er... why?
they have tricobalts as specials already, its a decent speed. when did you ever see voyager go through a nebula without incident. lol whenever a nebula came up they made an entire episode out of it :D
