Nice ship! I would love to see this added into FO. Looks like it would fit in with the Prometheus and Luna class starships. Maybe Tyler should go ahead and convert it for us so we don't have to wait!

Don't know who to contact, the A2 version creator mentioned talking to the BC version creator.

I like it as well, perhaps as a warp in experimental, a smaller counterpart to the (warpin count) expensive Descent... maybe it could be a phaser barge instead of a torpedo boat like steam-runner? though I agree, tone the black down to a dark grey.

Tyler wrote:It isn't actually black, it just looks like it ingame. The textures are dark grey with some lighter grey 'splotches'.
But a white/black (or dark gray) hull? Why not attach speakers on the hull and broadcast "Hey here i am".
Together with the sharp edges of the hull i simply do not like the design (more like butt ugly)

I love it, and I really like the markings. The white/grey paint scheme looks like a Section 31 ship or something.

I dunno about the dark gray...I like the way it looks, for sure! I just can't decide it if would look better with light gray there instead...

What iam going to say is in no way to offend anyone, but that ship is not to me a typical looking Federation Ship, Iam getting older, i still like and always will like the traditonal StarFleet Ship's. I feel that ship is not the best looking, and well look's stupid. You look at a Excelscior Class or Ambassador Class, Galaxy Class, or even an Intrepid Class, then you look at that come on.

I think the Avalon fighter carrier already is such a ship. Wont make any difference. And is Avalon is very nice I think. And we HAVE ships with sharp edged based on a triangle design:
Venture, Monsoon, a little Canaveral, Norway and of course the Avalon.
Dont know, no need for me.
edit:
I'd rather like to see a second ship with an additional "pod-like" hull base. We have the Torp-Neb and the Akira, which have those nice things, and a very little the monsoon. A heavy ship with such a pod design and a little triangle design would be cool. Maybe two pods, like the Neggie does have.

With respect, I have to say, that not even Starfleet could retain those general designs in the future. Starship design needs to change, and more importantly evolve. This 'spear-shaped' style might serve other purposes, like creating a more stable, and comfortable passage through slipstream. But don't get me wrong, I like the older desings, especially the Miranda, Excelsior, because they reflect the early attitude towards starship design, when ships were much more fragile, could not accomodate so many subsystems and such. But eventually sleeker desings came, like the Galaxy, then the Sovereign, Avalon, and maybe this is the next step.
About the ship itself:
Proteus has sleek, curved lines, I really think the way the saucer interacts and slips into the engineering hull, and into the pylons is a masterpiece. It reminds me of the Dauntless, seen in Voy.

Name 1 time Star Trek has had people recognize or find a Starfleet ship because of their sparkling light grey or pure white hull? You could paint it hot pink and it would be as hard to find as if it was pure black.

A person who likes a STO design calling a normal-style ship butt ugly. Oh, the irony.

Read this post and explain the irony.
I don't particularly like the STO designs either, but i like the concept behind it (an upgraded version of the Intrepid).
What we see in most of those fan based designs is large "super ships" while this would put star fleet's eggs in a few baskets again. As i understand the Intrepid and Defiant were classes which were meant to prevent all the eggs being in one basket.
Instead of some near OP design, smaller yet capable designs should be given priority.

Near OP design? What's so 'near Op' about a look? Is it going to wipe out fleets by overwhelming them by looking too streamlined to cope with? That makes no sense, neither does the 'multipurpose patrolship = super OP godship' comparison.
We're not talking about the Excalibur Class.

Description:
Coming straight from the early 25th century, the U.S.S. Proteus is the first of its' kind equipped with newly aquired and highly experimental quantum slipstream technology in addition to its' conventional warp drive. Like most new Federation ships built in this point in time the Proteus has the latest in Starfleet weaponry and shield geometry. Because this ship has the ability to cover large area of space in such a short period of time she is specificaly designed for multipurpose roles ranging from patroling the outer reaches of Federation space to long range tactical missions.
All comes together as being a near godlike ship to me. In addition i still do not like the design.

There's nothing even remotely 'god-like' about the design. It's exactly what the Sovereign was when it first came out, do you also consider the Sovereign an OP godship? The only slightly 'overdone' thing is the Slipstream, which likely wouldn't be in a FO version since it doesn't exist there.
If you don't like the design, just focus your post about the 'personal view' thing. No need to make an exaggerated OP claim.
