No but I suspect a vessel with a large saucer array capable of firing multiple single shots or combining the phaser cells into one large strip for high intensity shots would do better. Versatility is no small thing!

that analysis would conflict with the multiple times we've seen energy charge from much of the strip, then focus on one point where it is emitted.

in that image we see the array being active in several places but only one beam will be fired from one spot.

Of course it isn't a small thing, but the arrays fire very focused from specific emitter points. A single emitter-section firing with the pressure of the full array seems to be very vulnerable to overreaction and so on.

Boggz, seriously, okay, i know about the galaxy, ive read the threads, i was hear long before you were, so you need to realize that i know whats been said, so id like it if you stop treating me like i dont know anything
tng is not the defining feature of the galaxy, i was talking about the ship, and yeah saucer seperation kinda is, its one of the most unique parts of the galaxy,
also, the whole galaxy is weak, it got killed in ds9, galaxy never used seperation in ds9, um idk if you guys didnt realize, but ds9 is about ds9, and the defiant, not the galaxy, and the defiant was destroyed so by your guyses, logic the defiant is automatically weak,
guys seriously, its a plot twist, thats how shows are gonna be, they mix it up, it doesnt mean somthing is weak or has no purpose,
i guess i dont get it, for ships in the show, everything seems to have to follow it down to the wire, however new ships can be whatever they want to be, all im saying is that there could be a little creative license with the galaxy, i mean, isnt the akira actually supposed to be a massive torpedo ship, and the steamrunner a phaser ship,
now i know it is up to the devs, its their mods, i also know, that a poll that i created a while ago, showed the about 70 percent wanted saucer sep, i know the seperated model is there, and i had got the impression that seperation was pretty easy to impliment
and remeber for those who dont agree, this is just a game, this is just a disagreement of opinion, we dont need to loose our heads

I don't think discussions about phaser arrays deny those plot-twists. I'd rather say they're quite above and beyond screenwriting at all.

I don't know who it was, but I'm involved now. As much as you. Do you have enough tar and feathers for us all?

Word.

It's ok, Ray. I know you were here posting long before but that doesn't change the fact that Galaxy threads and Saucer Separation and similar things have been discussed to DEATH. Whether you have been here since the inception is irrelevant. You're making the same arguments that have been made over nad over again as if they were new.
"Dev's timeline and decisions are what matter in the end". They've acknowledged all the points made and exampled illustrated and blah blah blah over and over.
Suggestion: If you want separation to be part of the Galaxy, make a specific thread with a SPECIFIC ability idea. These vague assertions that "oh well it should be part of the Galaxy because we've seen it and it's so key to the IDEA of the Galaxy and whatnot blah blah" are not ideas, they are just vague assertions. Come up with an actual ability, lay it out nicely with a good description of it's purpose and why you think it would fit nicely in!

Lol! Funny to see the devil smiley and the words "owns part of a chicken coup" together.

Now you pointed it out, I kinda get worried about it

we might do something with saucer seperation one day, but certainly not as a special weapon or something similar that actually adds efficency to the Galaxy, cause we are strong believers that thats not the way saucer seperation should be implemented in a game.
We have no precise ideas about a how an when.

thatd be really cool if you guys could optec, yeah i kinda agree with you about that, a specialy weapon that makes it more poweful wouldnt be good, the only thing i can think of would be defensive, like saucer seperation, and all power goes to stardrive which escapes, while the other ships auto target the saucer or something so stardrive gets away, but idk, i just like seperation
so then, any idea when the fed redo will happen?
