I always lol at the Klingon at the end of the battle in Sacrifice that destroys the bird-of-prey in front of him...

Insurrection did always seem like a long regular episode of TNG to me.... like it should have been a two-parter, nothing really spectacular or big-screen worthy. But I didn't think it was terrible.

Movies by default have astronomically higher budgets than television episodes. So much so that they know they have to leave a sexy mark on the Star Trek community by adding something new and cool into the timeline or face the wrath of a million guys in their mom's basements.
With that budget they usually go nuts on cool space battles and graphics that they normally can't afford for episodes. In Insurrection they spent their money on shooting on-location and on extras for all those silly scenes with people. There's a great You-Tube link where a guy goes over how Insurrection sucks. I'll see if I can find it. He does sound like kind of a dweeb though. Not a good speaker.
LOL here it is. It's in 4 parts. He is a little crass and kind of a goober, but he actually points out some very poignant things that can kind of ruin it.
EDIT: Ok I re-watched it and it is REALLY funny. Besides pointing out massive inconsistencies.

That had me in stiches.
Pretty sure that's not his real voice, he's just doing the murmured monotone thing to be funny. Just like his "wife" Bamby.
Twas a good review of Insurrection.

Hmm, on the whole I thought the review was pretty crappy. Besides conveniently forgetting about the Starfleet regulations were pertaining to indigenous - not non indigenous - (before they knew the Baku were translocated versus the American Indians who obviously were) he conveniently forgets that Data has several times been asked/forced to join other science groups. ..of course, there are a whole slew of these strange memory losses. Frankly if you don't like a movie you can find tons of crap to pick at - I really enjoyed most of the Star Trek films, but in all reality, all of them had relatively "silly" plot devices and made little sense if you take the time to think about them. Yes, even First Contact makes no bleedin' sense with our whole "Time Travel" dealio. Why didn't the Borg send more than one Cube - why didn't they go back in time before attacking the Feds - how was Picard able to destroy the Cube when they are completely decentralized - why oh why oh why oh why... in the end - who cares.

Yeah. I liked all ten Star Trek movies, one way or the other, and even if some are somewhat so-so.

Me too.
But First Contact was an epic movie in my books, possibly just for the way they almost had you believing Data succumbed to the Borg.
Actually, we all know the line that made every penny spent on that movie worth it....(Hopefully someone awesome will tell us
)
Btw if you don't get it right, I will kill you.

Oh Dom.
It's supposed to be funny you tit. :D
He points out some inconsistencies but yeah, we all know that some things should be overlooked as not everything can be shown in a movie. Just enjoy the funny juxtapositions, silly. :D

I liked just about all the ST movies (including the new one, but as an action movie, not as Star Trek), except, of course, for Generations. For those who've read a good amount of my posts, you'll obviously interpret as that because the Enterprise-D was destroyed. But its not just that. The movie in general was sad. The only good thing that really happened was Worf's promotion at the start. I mean look at the highlights that I'm gonna say here:
-Kirk supposedly dies at the launch of the Enterprise-B (notice how I said supposedly)
-After the promotion ceremony, Picard gets notified that his brother and nephew have died in a fire
-Data's initial struggle with his new emotions
-The destruction of the Enterprise-D (HOW DARE THEY >:( )
-Kirk's actual death on Veridan III
To this day, Generations is the ONLY Star Trek movie I refuse to watch under any cirumstance. TWOK and TSFS had their sad parts, and I still cry at some of them, but none of the movies were as much as a huge letdown Generations was.

No, please, that would leave me with only NINE Star Trek films to watch.

That same guy has reviews for some of the other movies as well. You can find the Nemesis Review here. This one was just as good.
