I would like it if the Sovy had a mixed tech version. That would make it a fromable battleship. Besides, the sovy isn't that strong and needs a refit.

Well, I'd like it if the Romulans or Klingons got a mixed tech battleship too then.

No chance of a mixed-tech Sovereign, that would be just wrong.

Not even a Borg variant? Think about it, Gravimetric loaded Quantum torpedoes! And multi-target phasers, adaptive sheilding (reduces damage from torpedoes and beam weapons), Tactical armor, how could you not want that? :borg: :D

Easy, I like Federation...true Federation. Mixed-tech is great, but I'd rather keep the Sovereign pure Federation.

...because it would be a a god ship  :sweatdrop:

That would be cool for another avatar.  A pure tech, and a mixed with cloaking defiants, romulans, and klingons.  Oh, not to mention Phase cloaking galaxys, and transwarp excelciors.   To balance this, it would be something like section 32, so you only get older ships.  No soverign, or excelcior 2's, akiras or newer ships that date from the ds9 era.  they would all be tng era.

The Sovy variant could be a refit from Section 31, where you could only have one of it. That would balance it out.

Oow, now there is an Idea.  How about instead of a SFC building, how about a section 32 building that can warp in really cool ships like the descent, and the Excalibur.

*facepalm*

I thought Section 31 wasn't getting access to high-end ships.

Honestly though, when did Section 31 actually control these vessels: sure they had officers, but an entire ship(s)? I'm sure Starfleet would be awfully interested in why their ships and bases mysteriously vanish into the ether...

Better question: Why would Starfleet call for help from their version of the Tal Shiar, who they hate to even admit exists.

...and who they try to prosecute at times

Don't you remember one of the quotes from an episode of DS9.

"But when Starfleet needs the dirty work to get done they turn the other way..." - Benjamin Sisko

"Isn't that what Section 31 does all the time?" - Julian Bashir

According to this Section 31 does the work that Starfleet doesn't want to do. So basically Section 31 raises their hand to get those jobs done.  :shifty:

Starfleet doesn't doesn't what Starfleet can't, they do what Starfleet won't. Most of the time, Starfleet doesn't even know about it.

Sure, the Federation's most powerful ships are larger than the Klingons' medium ships. That doesn't really say anything.

But compare the Sovereign-class (the most powerful canon Fed ship) to the Negh'Var, the D'deridex, the Borg Cube, and the Dominion Battleship in terms of size and displacement. Comparing the most powerful standard ships of all five current Fleet Ops factions - the Sovereign is by far the smallest, yet the transitive property (comparing to Valdore and wingmate in Nemesis) would suggest that vis a vis D'deridex it would kick some Romulan ass. The Enterprise also destroyed a Borg Sphere with a single quantum torpedo volley and beat up a Son'a battleship that was much larger than it. And it wasn't even a purpose-built warship; it was simply outfitted with the very best in post-Wolf 359 technology and refitted every few years to keep it at top spec.
