RCIX wrote: * Holo-Stealth
    Utilizes a combination of holo-technology and sensor misdirection to disguise this ship
    makes this ship capable of traveling in the outer half of enemy ships sensor ranges without being detected (can be "destealthed" by tachyon scans and will be detected at full sensor range by support vessels and most stations)
Also, perhaps i should explain my original "Reactive Shields" idea a little more/revise the description:
* Reactive Shields
    Charges the shields with energy that responds to incoming beam and pulse weapons, returning blasts of energy to the targets that fired
    fires blasts of shield energy in response to incoming beam and pulse weapons; doubles damage taken by beam and pulse weapons
Now, i actually started the thread so that anyone could post their ideas, so i'd love to hear them.

Btw. Can someone pleast tell me the difference between these tech in contrast to the former, which I have argumented to death?

Heavy Tractor Beam
   A high powered tractor beam is latched onto an enemy targets shields, slowly sapping them away
   saps shields away from the enemy target

I like that idea. Maybe it could be a replacement for the Borgs holding beam ability as the current holding beam even tho it holds a target, the assimilation rate isnt too strong. I was thinking of the holding beam in this way.

Holding Beam X Energy per second (sorry couldnt remember the energy cost for this ability).
Holds the target in place, preventing movement and drains the targets shields. If the targets shields are completely drained 20 drones per second are transported aboard the targets ship.

In TNG it was shown that the borg have Anti-shield Torps, Anti-Shield tractor beams (that actually drained the shield energy for the Cube's use...nasty) so an anti-shield beam, or even something similar to the Shield Inversion beam from the D'deridex in stock would be fitting.

ok i better be honest here... i read it in a star trek novel in pretty much the same context and thought it would make a cool special weapon. :blush:

There's no evidence that the Cube actually GOT the shield energy from it. It might have been just an anti-shield beam like any other (USING its own energy to counter the Enterprise's shields).

Actually, all the Borg weapons we have seen do damage to ships hulls once they've got through the shields, so they aren't actually anti-shield weapons. We have seen both Borg torpedoes and "holding beam" type beams destroy ships themselves.

The Borg's anti-shield Torpedos did nothing to the ship, only the Shields. Any weapons would damage the ship, but why would the Borg use an anti-shield weapon on the hull of an assimilation target? That's not very efficient.

One of the existing Specials they have in the game has the anti-shield effect, anyway.

to put it bluntly, i was just adding and changing stuff till you guys liked it. ;):D

Don't we already have a battle tractor beam?  I supose it doesn't "sap shields" but it has been done before.  How about the old mod for the Species 8472 miner ship.  Mines metals out of ships, and eventually the ship it self.  that would be cool for your entire mining fleet so suddenly turn and deastroy a tavara. :lol:

@Adm. Zaxxon

May be realistic with shields off only.

Just some thoughts:
Does anybody know, how hard and dense a dilithium moon is, compared to a ships hull? It's needed to discuss how long a ship-mining would take in comparison to normal mining. Also, if mining was a very energy-intense job (Idk), why is that mining-beam not used for battle anyway. Id a dilithium moon was a combact, solid, monolithic object, a mining beam would possibly have to be as powerful as a phaser.

@Tyler

In my opinion, weapons that do exceprional damage to shields, but hardly harm hull might be possible (depending on how we define/assume StarTrek shields to work), but it would take far too much micromanagemnt to swich gor weapons from shield destoyers to hull destroyers all them time. I agree with you. The shield disrupting decasting attack is fun enough.

Then go on changin' them, still they are not liked yet (at least not the particulat ones I fought). But please do us a favour and think about the canges first, ok?

Btw I liked nearly all of your others  :thumbsup: , why stick to those, which seem to be diffcult for you?

All right after some investigation into the terms asymptote and asymptotic, i have a new ability idea fix:
* Asymptotic Energy Gradient
    Applies a special field to space around enemy ships that will damage them in proportion to their current speed, up to a maximum
and i have also thought up a replacement to holo-stealth
* Holographic Obfuscation
    uses a combination of sensor misdirection and holographic technology to obfuscate the apparent position of the enemy vessel
    shuts down sensors and engines on the target vessel for 10 seconds
