So maybe you have this pet idea you keep working on. Or maybe you can churn out technobabble a dime a dozen; it doesnt matter! any ideas you have that could conceivably be turned into a special weapon or passive ability, post them here. Ill kick it off with a (rather large) repository of technoabble that ive come up with over the past 6 months or so.
* Sensor Echo
Generates a sensor mask that will confuse any nearby enemies targeting systems
reduces enemy accuracy by 60 percent
lasts for 15 seconds
* Long-Range Target Acquisition Sensors
A set of sensors linked to a set of computers equipped specially to acquire and maintain targets
increases weapon range by 20 percent
* Vector Precalculation Systems
Computing elements dedicated to computing weapon firing vectors improve weapons fire rates
Weapons rate of fire is increased by 15 percent
* Ionized Disruptors
An ion generator is set up to pump ions to the disruptor banks
increases disruptor damage by 20 percent
* Graviton Emitter Grids
Activates a series of graviton emitter grids on the hull, increasing shield durability and regeneration rate
increases shield strength by 50 percent and doubles regeneration rate
* Nanoparticle Bonded Hull
Nanoparticles are deposited on the outside of a mold that is in the shape of a ship's hull then subjected to extreme temperatures to fuse them into one large hull piece
Increases hull strength by 80 percent
* Multi-frequency Phaser Blast
Fires a phaser blast tuned to multiple frequencies which is extremely effective at dispersing shield energy but does little damage to ships hulls
Phaser does 200% damage to shields but 10% to hull
* Reactive Shields
Engages systems that charge the shields with energy that reacts to incoming phaser and torpedo blasts
doubles damage taken by 200 percent but reflects fire back at the enemy
* Micro Fusion Cannons
Uses a system of small fusion reactor powered cannons located along the hull to intercept incoming torpedoes
Destroys any torpedoes in the immediate area
* Cluster Torpedoes
Replaces standard torpedo ordinance with torpedoes that carry hundreds of small antimatter canisters that explode upon contact with the hull or shields
triples torpedo damage against hull, halves fire rate
* Quantum Distortion Probe
Generates quantum distortions in the area around it, randomly phasing matter or converting matter into energy
deals extreme damage to target area for approx. 5 seconds (it self destructs after that)
* Chaff Cloud
Deploys a cloud of chaff material around the ship/station that partially reflects sensor scans
reduces enemy accuracy by 25 percent
lasts for 2 minutes
* Asymptotic Energy Gradient
Creates an asymptotic energy gradient around enemy vessels in the area (forces ships to use large amounts of energy to travel small spaces)
reduces enemy speed by 90 percent
lasts for 10 seconds
* Shield Enhancement Torpedoes
Fires a torpedo at an allied vessel specially tuned to reinforce a section of the shields
adds back 20 percent of maximum shields
* Folding of Space
Energy is used to fold space, allowing great distances to be crossed in a small period of time.
increases ships speed by 700 percent
* Transporter Relay
Transporter equipment is installed into a probe casing then launched into space to provide extended transporter range to this ship
doubles transporter range in the direciton selected
* Electro Plasma Charged Weapons
Routes additional electro plasma to the phasers on this ship, increasing fire rate and damage
increases damage by 25 percent and fire rate by 50 percent
* Phaser Cannon
Drains all shipboard phaser capacitors through a special emitter on the ships hull, dealing large amounts of damage
Damage is proportional to the number of phaser arrays on the source ship
* Heavy Tractor Beam
A high powered tractor beam is latched onto an enemy targets shields, slowly sapping them away
saps shields away from the enemy target
* Shield Reconstruction
Deploys probes around an allied ship which are used to route energy for reconstruction of the allied ships shield bubble.
Repairs allied ships shields
* Hacker Probe
Launches a probe that hacks into the enemies computer system and shuts down their computers
Disables all subsystems minus life support for 10 seconds
* Sensor Decoy
Utilizes the deflector to project a false image of a ship at a nearby location
forces enemy ships to target and fire at empty space for 5 seconds
* Shield Shockwave
Emits a shockwave of shield energy, removing shields on all nearby vessels (including the source ship)
disables shields for 4 seconds on all nearby vessels
* Holo-Stealth
Utilizes holo-technology to disguise the source ship from most sensor scans
hides the ship from most sensor scans (unless it is in a nebula or something hits it)
* Subspace Hole
Uses the warp engines to project a specially formed warp bubble at another ship
does extreme damage to the target, shuts down source engines/weapons for 20 seconds
* Cloaked Torpedo
Fires a special torpedo with extra payload and a cloaking device (enabling it to be fired while cloaked)
* Subspace Displacement
Forms a special warp bubble around the source ship that pushes it into subspace. Note however that the vessel can still be easily detected.

Some of them look like ones already in or removed before. Reactive Shields in particular sound like the Corbomite Reflector.

yea, most of them aren't really new ones but the descriptions are written creatively
aside from the descriptions, i found this the most interesting (from a developers point of view, as all the other weapons are more or less possible to create with the current possibilities of armada):

Especially some ideas tend to be Voyageristic! *brrr*
I especialy dislike:
Reactive Shields (1. Corbomite reflector was abandoned before, 2. totally Voyageristic)
Asymptotic Energy Gradient (Do you even know what those words mean? Not even talking about the whole word.)
Folding of Space (Folding space to increase speed is equal to warp, which was abandoned eversince FO exists)
Holo-Stealth (This may only work if the enterprise is stupid enough not to use simple radar assistance. Tachyon scan is also not affected by this. Holotechnologies require an exchange of the holo-layer on the ships surface, which is especially a problem when turning the ship)
I especialy like:

Folding space has been done before too many times. Even in VOY, with the quantum slipstream drive, which I think should resurface in a different way. I alreaady did it in my Personal mod.

I loved the Corbomite Reflector, though reflecting Directed energy is believable, reflecting Torpedos isn't.

Tyler, how does a shield possibly work? But I can't think of any configuration tht may reflect a beam back to the source (except the attacker is stupid enough to fire the beam vertically to the shields, and the shields are an endurable mirror).

Tractor Beams can deflect shots from directed energy weapons. If they can, a shield designed specifically for that can. I don't think the reflector was the same as the regular shields.
Many FO ships fire vertically, I never saw them fire any horizontal shots (if the shot hit the right place it would be sent back to the firing ship). How often did the reflector send weapons back at the firing ship in stock? Most of the time it sent them in a random direction.

A2 stock. The only thing I change about the special weapons is the names and descriptions.
Plus how fast that snail-crawl Chain Reaction Pulsar moves!

Also for tractor beam the law, incoming angle (from perpendicular to shields, parralel to tractor beam) is equal to outgoing, is present, always. A reflection of a beam towards the emitter is only possible, if they fire exactly perpendicular to shields / parralel to tractor, which is not likly, and not wise either. As the FO-shields are rotational ellipsoid, this is even more difficult. So a reflector, that actually reflects objects back to the emitter is highly unrealistic.
