Give Federation Ships Refits

You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

After testing out the Romulans, it's clear that their ships are extremely powerful. Too powerful
in my opinion. When you combine their already powerful offense with refits for such ships as
the Rhienn makes the Romulans virtually unstoppable for experienced players.

The Klingons, and Dominion each have plenty of offense and abilities to comepete with the Romulans, but the Feds are left in the dust in that respect.

I noticed the warp-in vessels are especially weak and have limited special abilites. Some of them are not even worth using. Moreover, Veteran ranks for ships such as the Warbird greatly outmatch those of comparable vessels such as the Galaxy.

Please consider giving Fed vessels refits and beefing up their offense, special abilites, and Veteran stats.

Starfleet refits have been suggested before, and shot down each time. The same goes for beefing-up their ships.

feds are fine as they are in my opinion, they just dont need extreme firepower because they have many longranged vessels and can kite their enemys easily. also for the warp in: a warbird costs as much as the whole starfleet command, and you get 3 free ships outta it every 3 minutes.

...and again the pendulum swings...

Feds are overpowered if nothing else. They are the most powerful faction in the game afterall, not withstanding a certain special weapon. Like Tyler said, both suggestions have been rejected before.

All the Warp-In vessels have great abilities and are quite good for being some of your starter units.

You want to make the more powerful faction in FO even more powerful?

The Feds need a NERF, boyo. Exactly the contrary of what you are suggesting.

Stop building Sovereigns and check what else the Feds have in store... Let me tell you: they have too much, specially properly used.

OMG! Yes! Give the feds a punch, pleeeeease! Pimp my feds! They need it!

Just kidding...  :sweatdrop:

Refits have been declared Romulan style and that's only one reason why we won't get refits for the feds. If you like to find out why the feds don't need more power or more ships or whatever you might like to check out about a dozen threads about how weak the feds (not) are. ;)

the only thing that is crazy powerful with feds is the warp in otherwise they would be pretty even with other races.

Yeah all the feds need is the old Plasma Coil

You yourself have just stated that the Feds are ahead of the other races.

So, we remove warp-in and balance is restored?

I see a lot of Fedrats crying "Don't take my precioussss away!!".

I think warp-in adds a new element of complexity to fed and diverges from the regular style of empire building in this game- but it needs an adjustment- because right now, it's not necessarily OP'd, but it's what we see a LOT of feds doing. Either it needs a nerf or the rest of their fleet needs a buff. Feds should be able to win without having to quicktech to the same building every time. Something needs a change.

(spent too much time in the office today)

Can we see your test data?  :pinch:

Test what?

He started a game, tried to spam Sovvies, and got his behind kicked by Roms. And as it's obvious the Feds must win always, the roms are OP.

Simple. ton.

PS: Thanks for donating, yando. I'm unemployed, so I cannot afford it. But thanks to you and all other donators, this mod keeps going as it is.

You can win in a lot with a lot of other strategies that do not rely on the Warp In too: the current problem with Mayson Feds will be fixed next patch, but it can be summarized as such: best early game unit (Saber), best mid game unit (Excelsior II), best support ability (Sensor Blackout). The Warp In in and of itself is not overpowered, but the combination with these other units can cause issues.

Actualy I think the rommulans suck against feds. I have lost almost every time when I was Romms against feds. It doesnt matter what refit you have againstr canaverals. You can disarm an entire fleet for 25 seconds with cascade (or at least reduce its fire rate by 85%).

we are currently working on a plan for a general Federation Redo we want to deploy in one of the next patches (along with redos for the other factions too), in order to make their look and feel and their gameplay unique. Warp-In is a feature we realy like and we dont want to remove. However we got the message, that some elements of Federation gameplay might give them an advantage. I think the new Federation Redo will take them into account, without damaging the Federation feeling, but compensating by adding newer, and more interessting features.

The next patch will include a large scale rebalancing of long-range vessels, that will affect some Federation ships like the Saber, but it will affect all factions.

In short: We do not plan to cut of the balls of the Federation, but the larger redo planned for a future patch will include some new game elements for all species, that will even the scales
