Borg Cloak Detect

Maybe Support Dodes should be able to ping. Would give us more reason to build them

i think borg sensor relay should get their pings back cuz at the moment their really useful as they have small sensor range ... the only thing they are good for is forcing the enemy to auto target them when you drop a bunch of them on the playing field... (not to mention their late tech) ... as a matter of fact borg cloak is late tech and not the best...my main problem is that nanite which detects cloak is only for diamond and cube... maybe if there was nanites for pyramid or even useless adaptors(?) but without the damage dealing???

lol i'll assume you're joking, support dodes are very useful for recharging 3regen 1holding spheres or pyramids with at least 1 holding and 2 regens.

if they had mobile active cloak detect it would be a bit nuts for me.

Actually a Module for the Dode that provides an active cloak detect doesn't sound like a bad idea to me .  Right now the EM Scube is kind of like an AoE Manual Targetting on steroids .  Might be fun to have a new method of active detection.

i agree the borg could do with 1 more method for cloak detection, just i disagree it should be on the dodeca. available too easily early on. maybe the sphere or pyramid could get it.

Sure I see what you mean.  Of course, the Feds can have it as soon as they research their scout shit.  The Rommies can have it the second their free scout comes out .

  You think a Dode dedicated to cloak detect is too early?  Right now the first active decloak they have is from Nanites on the Diamond.

  Sphere seems fine too.

How about a quantum singularity.  That might allow you to detect cloaked vessels.  Plus, didn't the Borg create one a few times?

The only downside is that you might have a dozen or so 8472 vessels come into the battle.  And win or loose the game for you.

just because 1 race has a quality doesnt mean all have to.

yup i do think that. they have em scube, which is ok when it works. nanites is great too.

dodeca is available immediately after scubes

i think sphere/pyramid would be better as it's not available as early as dode but not as late as diamond.

Lol Myles I wasn't saying that all races should have the same cloak detect  .  You said active detect too early would be bad and I was just pointing out that it's still not as early as some other races.

  Btw you can still rush a sphere real early so ... I mean even if it's on that it's still early .

i never said active detect early was bad, i said it probably would be for borg since they already have early cloak detect of one form. re-reading what i said i see i wasnt that clear. i'm only talking about for borg here.

sphere rush is possible yes, but a sphere adapted for decloaking would probably be weaker in combat and not live long. like rushing an auto assim assim, good at assiming, but bad at combat.

i love how no one mentions [move]Adaptors[/move]
1 cloak detect mod = blue ping
2 cloak mod = green ping with bigger radius

problem solved!

Edit: FYI i have no idea why my adaptor is leaving a red plasma trail...

well adaptors are available not that long after scube too. but it wouldnt be terrible for the adaptor if the cloak detect modules were weaker in combat and cost more than a usual adaptor so that going straight for an adaptor would be a bad move unless you decloak loads of stuff and get loads of kills.

i suggested sphere cos its midway between scubes and diamond usually.

If you want Adaptors to cloak detect, what about Adaptors that detect the race they're adapted too? The only way to get detection 'early' is to ally with a race also on the opposite team.

It suits their name.
