You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

I'm just hoping that the Borg get cloak detect worthy of a race capable of scanning and entering alternate dimensions like Fluidic Space.  In no way should the Borg be slouches in cloak detect, at least not once they deem detecting cloaked vessels 'relevant'.

Dom edit: split from Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - Romulan Scout.

well, they can always put a builder to plop down a collective upling, which will then be used to create a dodecahaedron frame, which will be equipped with a vinca module and a relay module, followed by actually constructing the complete vessel, which will then be able to fly around, choose a playe to plop down a relay, which will then gain access to a very short ranged, regular tachyon ping, after spending like 800 of each ress and about 2 minutes to actually build the goddamn thing!

on top of that, the defense will obviously be very weak, compared to the alternatives!

The borg will for sure NOT be able to include some god damn powerful sensor array into their giant ships with really high amounts of surplus energy and no need to worry any time about having no space...
Instead, they got the em module for scubes, which requires you to actually shoot something, nanites, which require you to at least have a general idea of the opponents whereabouts and aforementioned tach ping, which I honestly don't see as that useful/strong!
When borg wants detection, they create something oversized, which is way overkill and not some bad joke like that ping dode...

If they could fix the Scube, then the EM Scube/Probe combo would be a modest detect.

But isn't this the wrong scout we're talking about?

probes intel report costs way to much to be viable until late game.

borg could do with 1 item more of cloak detect i think. em scubes, vinca relay, diamond, and one more would round it off.

unless one of those gets more powerful, then an addition wont be necessary.

Add a ping to all borg starbases, increase vin relay ping range, prehaps.

I think they should just fix the sensor relay and adjust the Scube and everything will be fine.

Sensor relays: Tachyon ping, actual sensor range.

Relays: Not suck, infocards say more about what modules give what to a turret.

i dont think the droppable sensor relay should have ping again.

Give all Borg vessels the tachyon ping ability.  But make it a special that can be activated and later cancelled.  And give all Borg stations the tachyon ping.  The Borg should have the best cloak detection system available.

It would be realistic.

I'll rebut on two fronts:
1) not realistic as borg arent best at everything, or they'd stop assimilating. borg have never used cloaks. Cloaks dont stop borg assimilating planets, they didnt decloak the raven either.
2) it would throw balance hugely. Nuff said. This is a game, not a fan novel

About droppable Relays, what about a capped second relay that only the Probe can get? About 4-6 and activated with both Sensor Relay and Partial Adaption Collective Features? The latter because they're 'adapting' to the cloaks.

I NEVER MENTIONED HAVING THE BORG USE CLOAK!  JUST CLOAK DETECT!
