We have developed Fleet Operations as a modification with intent on continuing the spirit which made Armada 1 that awesome game for Star Trek fans back then. This is why we often try to go 'back to the roots' and look at what Star Trek and Star Trek Armada was and was about at this time. This of course also includes looking at Armada 1 itself, so we never lose focus on what we are trying to achieve with Fleet Operations.

DX7 shouldn't be a problem.  I use it for rFactor and it runs just fine.

directx 7 in a 2005 game? in rFactor's system requirements it is stated that DirectX 9.0c is required. armada 1 is six years older

Oh.  In that case, nevermind.

Anyways, I've tried the demo of Armada 1 and it has quite a few sound issues for me.  But no crashing.

the problems with a1 on modern computers varies wildly. i had it on xp where i needed the alternate font and the sound had major issues. then i switched to windows 7 and the sound issues were fixed, only the font issues remained.

You guys continue to amaze me!!!!!  What a wonderful patch!  I successfully played...albeit about 10 minutes worth before I had to quit and sing high praise to you and your team...how much of a great patch this is!  Now I can go back and play some of those cool mods that were made for A1!  You guys rock!
