Tyler? Need some more Help? Cant figure this out!!!!
When playing Dominion + Klingon against a Fed AI - When i capture their construction ship i cannot build the mixed tech yard??? but if i am allied with one then i can????
Its only effecting Mayson Fed that i have seeen?
Guessing this must have something to do with my MOD?

For a Mixed Tech yard, you need to be in alliance with the other race to gain full access to their technical data.

Yea you need to capture a constructor?
It is only happening with the feds?

Edit - it is only the dominion? i have tried capturing a fed constructor with all the other races and i can access the mixed tech yard for all of them except domionion?
It simply does not show in the build list?
Thanks to your teaching tyler i resolved this issue myself!!!
because i added 1 to the build list i hadnt changed all the numbers in the construction ships build list and availability lists !!

That's the good thing about modding with A2/FO: You can always learn by doing. Troubleshooting often reveals typos or incorrectly set numbers as the reasons for things not working.

Tyler need some more help? think that i know the answer and how to fix it it just want to run this by u?
I posted just after i got the modifications to fully work, about how the rhode island refits extended fleet supply willnot affect itself, also just noticed that the Yoyodyne nebulas tactical torpedo pod will not work!! the button shows but will not open to allow the three special abilities to be used and the Centaurs sehild ability takes the sheilds from a turret but its shield does not regenerate?
However as soon as they rank up to the first level they all can use their abilities?
When i created the B versions of the ships to allow them to be build i simply copied the A odf? including the special abilities? so when they rank up they revert to the A2 rank and can then use the abilities?
Is this because i did not create the B2 B3 B4 and B5 rank ups and this is why they cannot use it at first but then can when they rank up and revert?
Does any of that make sense?

You need to add the entry into the Special Weapon odf, just like the Rhode Island weapon. The Nebula one also needs another odf for the modified ship, that's the ones with the M at the end of the filename.
It can use the weapons after ranking up because the ones it ranks up to are listed in the odfs for the weapons.

Basically, it's the same problem as the Rhode Island special; the special weapon doesn't have entries for the new ships in. Some (like the Nebula) also use a second odf to change stats, those are the ones that have M at the end of the odf name.
The weapos work after ranking up because the ranked up ones use odfs that are aready listed in the weapons.

Copy fed_nebulaAM and call the new one fed_nebulaBM, then look for the odfs fed_torpmodule (there should be several wih code in) and copy the entry for the unranked NebulaA, replacing the A with a B. The other weapons should work like that or the Rhode Island version.
Sorry I can't be more specific about the code itself, I can't seem open the odfs at the moment.

The ship files include the names of the special weapon odfs, and the 'alternate mode' odfs that he Nebula special uses ends with M (for example fed_nebulaAM is the alternate mode of the Sensor Nebula odf fed_nebulaA).
