it is 3d space but fleet ops forces all ships to return to height of 0 after movement

so presumably its a sphere. but the effect is a circle, cos most ships stay in height=0 plane.

thinking of it that way its most likely its just the circular effect which is distorted by tilting the ship and the sphere (and hence the actual distance covered by the ping) is unchanged.

yep its a sphere :) the ping is just a circle out of pure visual reasons :)

thanks for clarifying. :D

can the circle be fixed so that it don't look weird when the ship is tilted.

That would explain why veteran Kvorts disable and break ship engines very easily or is that intended?

Yup, not intended, because they deal direct hull damage and sometimes that hits the subsystem too...  :crybaby:

other notes - it was when i clicked the wormhole with my scout, and as soon as my scout started speeding up and was inside the wormhole (but not on the other side yet) the game went oos and stuff

i circled around the wormhole and around it but it didn't oos and it was in sesnor range it was when i click and went into the wormhole game went oos



it was a federation scout FYI

Dunno if anyone's posted this yet, but it actually seems that Veteran Kvorts are firing THROUGH shields at the moment ...

  Just had a game and Beat2k10 had a number of kvorts.  I know that it was not siheld breaking torp as it was a steady and constant blast through the shields of my fed ships regardless of the energy that the Kvorts had.


  Did i miss something?  Do K'vorts naturally do that now?  He had two vet Kvorts and they JUST tore my fleet to pieces.  I am quite sure there is a bug somewhere in there causing the officer/veteran Kvorts to blast through shields.

Aye, it's been that way for as long as I can recall, but I'd always assumed that was part of their officer rank ability, despite it not saying so on the tooltip :)

As far as I can tell, K'Vort odf's don't have the extra, invisble weapons that allow them to bypass shields.

Yeah, Dom and I have seen it in game, and just assumed it was part of the experimental disruptors. :lol:  Could very well be a bug. :thumbsup:

Yes they do ^-^.   The ODF doesn't seem to say so, but at the very least Martok's does.  I have tried Taq's yet.  It's not even vet, it's just the experimental disruptors.

The only invisible weapons they have set the ignoreshield code to 0. Forgot that FO changed some things :blush:. Damagemode is used instead of ignoreshield now.

Then again, so does the Veteran Galaxy's modified Photons and they pass the shields... looking at the odf's again, it seems all K'Vort varients get a chance to pass shields when they reach rank4.
