I'm just saying; if they can come from anyone, why have it in? Why not just say it was 'originally a Klingon weapon assimilated by the Borg' similar to the other races Photons? It's just something that sticks out to me for some reason... I tend to find things like this more annoying that things that are actually important.
Those Klingons from the DQ didn't seem to have met the Borg, judging by the fact that they weren't assimilated (a rickety 23rd century barge isn't gonna last long or win, no matter who's it is).

... but you don't know what other Klingons are out there - you're only sticking to small things in the show
It's like stating that a Defiant should be able to kill 10 Bugs at once because it did it on "da show". Or that... I give up. If you want to argue it, fine, but don't claim it defies logic, just call the spade a spade: "it doesn't go off what was explicitly described on TV".

Canon over fanon, that's my preference. Not like many Klingons had a reason to go that far out; there's plenty of enemies around them.
I never claimed it 'defies logic', it just makes no sense that that's the only common piece of tech used by multiple races in the game that describes where it was assimilated from. Holding Beam, Regeneration, Cutting Beam and the various things that are not likely to be used by many races make no mention of where they were stolen from.

I feel that the dodec, is a good addition to the borg collective, it helps to transition to the spheres, and while i still feel maybe a ship like the assimilator, or adaptor, could help with that transition, the dodec, does well, i feel it is a good balance,

the veteran defiant (like the real defiant with sisko in command) can take down quite a lot of bugs i think i mite test it actually. but the vet defiant kicks serious bottom.

i believe that the Klingon encountered the Borg as seen in one of the voyager episodes
also not to mention the klingon religion thingy, for all we know there might have been several klingon ships
(i'm talking about the voyager episode with the ktinga and the baby being the "god" person thingy)

The 'Son of K'Vok personality' doesn't really show what order they assimilated the races in, only that they met at least 1 Klingon at some point in the 24th century.
True, we don't know how many ships that religion had, but the crew of the D7 never did or said anything to imply they weren't alone. They didn't seem to reveal much about their group really, except that they believe the Empire had 'lost its way'.

Im pretty sure that its onscreen somewhere saying that the klingons first developed the photon torpedo. Something about klingon scientists i dont remember.

Enterprise had a Raptor Class armed with Photons, which the NX-01 crew were unfamilier with. Their Photonic Torpedoes were apparently different somehow.

Fleet Ops says the Klingon Empire invented Photon Torpedoes (it's in a description somewhere, probably if you hover the mouse over the icon for a torp launcher), but Memory Alpha says nothing about who developed them first. Maybe the Hur'Q invented them and the Klingons just reverse engineered them?

Star Trek has always been rather quiet about the past. The Raptor being the first ship known to have them is about all canon has on their origin.
That's likely why FO says they designed them. Who else would you expect to be the first to consider such self-destructive weapons?

Would you mind keeping thoose discussions OUT of a strategy thread. You go absolutely off topic and keep going on.

What did Boggz do?
I have only played the Dodec as an Opti Borg myself. They were countered well by Adaptors. I have yet to play another race against them but I can see how the system-disable can be a big problem.
I'm interested to see a few more games go up first. There are a lot of module combos possible.

actually you should try any 1v1 against an opti borg. They will just build 3 Dodes with 2xIntercepts or Icep+Regen. At least I lost any game against these Dodes. The only chance you have is to frequently attack the dodes and run away. this way they cannot regen fully.
