........ aside from how it took them a few seasons to bother to put "Star Trek:" in the title

Do we have to dig up the time travel episodes from TOS and TNG, Tok'ra?

time travel appeared in every single trek series. all of them.
and in both TMP movies and TNG movies. time travel is popular.

Besides, what's wrong with a starship fighting Nazi planes with plasma weapons in an alternate WW2? That's 'Superman punching Hitler' stuff, right there.

i dunno why they fitted the plasma weapons only to the stukas. granted they would fit some of the stukas with plasma weapons as it was a superior ground attack plane, but i would have expected them to give at least some air to air fighters. the stuka was terrible at attacking/resisting airborne targets. i know this was the first run of aircraft to be given plasma weapons, but i find it silly to give ALL the weapons to one type of aircraft that is good at 1 thing only.

If they're going to equip them with tech from centuries in the future (as best they could replicate whatever they were given), they were probably not as limited as the real-life version.
Still, after conquering a large part of America, the Air Force probably wasn't as much as a threat as it should have been.

why use future tech to make the poor stuka better when existing designs are already superior?

Well, obviously because the aliens didn't want to see flying tanks!

Because they're not superior at killing ground forces, as you said. After taking a large part of America, including major cities like Washington, ground forces are what they'd meet the most since they're on their enemies homeground.
Plus, you can't have 2 first batches. The Na'kuhl held back on the tech, and the Germans might not consider the American Air Force a threat.
Of course, there is always the idea of the guy in charge of the refit being bias. Nazi Germans aren't exactly the model of any virtue.

When Enterprise first came out I think I was still in highschool... and I felt obligated to watch it, if that is the word. Like something to do out of loyalty, because of what was done in the past. But I was horrified to learn that they had gone back in time... I just thought no way, no new technologies, everything old... The only thing going for them is they could recount the early Klingon wars, maybe Romulan as well, and go through that. But with what ship designs? Were gonna run out of plot lines in no time. What characters were they going to have? No Klingon, no android, shape shifter, Vulcan was taken by Spock, empath is gone. It would be a crew of humans! That's not very sci fi for star trek/ (I was not impressed by their Doctor)
Anyways, I watched it as often as I could... until. Until an episode was made called 'the communicator'. After that, I lost all interest in the series. I didn't even watch the episode, the first 5 or 10 maybe weren't all that exciting. I mean, the only thing I remember from what I watched, is that they had this huge inferiority complex towards the Vulcans, and how 'warp 5' was a huge accomplishment. I can appreciate that at a certain point in time, warp 5 would have been an accomplishment for a race trying to catch up to the vulcans... but come on, we've already seen warp 9.98 that can be held for several hours... and backward explanations about infinite velocities, warp 10, and warp 13?
I've watched parts of random episodes... but can't say I was the biggest fan. Not a big fan of this scene either. It just seems all off. It's like it started off with an idea 'hey let's do something like time travel and have the Enterprise fight Nazi planes!' and then they literally just did that. Gave up on improving on plot lines, or scene developments. And just said, let's aim for 4, and do 4. Instead of taking it further to a 10.
I don't really care all that much about canon. Let Enterprise have its say. But overall... just not the greatest. Star trek was made from other series.

I missed beginning episodes. I remember a seemingly big threat from this new alien species? And they went out hunting for them? Insects?
Don't remember a Dear Doctor.. which was that? But no, that wasn't my point.
I don't know if the communicator turned out to be a good episode or not.. but the fact that they had made, and title an episode about a communicator...
I don't remember many 'good' episodes. But that they went on about a communicator... sigh. Who's gonna care.
Edit: Actually, one thing I did like was the idea of the movie theatre. In the sense that this was a big space ship, and they decided to give them entertainment through movies of old classics. I thought that was perhaps genuine, when we build space ships for long voyages... yeah, I hope we give those crews thousands of dvds to choose from, cause they are sure gonna get bored out there. But even this was done with Voyager. They had their holodeck recreation, and wasnt there a theatre maybe at some point? But at the very least concerts throughout all the series. Instruments, poetry, art. etc Data.

So you didn't even watch the episode, you just judged it based on it's NAME?!
Here's the gist of it.
Reed and Archer return to an alien planet that wasn't very close to warp to retrieve a communicator that Reed dropped. This planet is on the brink of nuclear war. They get caught and are interrogated. The aliens discover that they aren't the same species, but are rather wearing prostheses to look like them. They get ready to start dissecting them after they figure out how to use the phase pistols they had. Archer and Reed prepare to sacrifice themselves rather than cause this warlike planet to have certain proof of aliens and the advanced technology that may let them go out and slaughter people.
T'pol successfully launches a rescue mission.
The episode is the framework for the Prime Directive.

This was one of the better episode of Enterprise imo, I think there are far worse crimes it made against canon then a time traveling episode bound to alter the future. It's ironic that the best episodes of ENT are the time traveling and mirror episodes.
Linkara ftw!
