Just watched "The Wounded".

Wow.  There's a reason TNG won so many Emmy's.  It rocks.  I had forgotten just how excellent of a series it was.  Excellent writing combined with excellent performances.

Boom!

Way too preachy at times but still lots of good episodes in the series. I'm a particular fan of the classics, Q,who, Best of Both Worlds, Paralells, All Good things... etc. etc.

Preachy perhaps, but at least they managed to come up with conflicting morals and messages packaged in cool scenarios.  The Wounded was a great episode that combined character pieces, vessel confronation, and strategics all within the guise of a larger conflict.  Awesome.

And it perfectly blurred the lines of right and wrong, but clarified the moral issues at the same time.

This is why I love TNG.

It still had its share of moral backfires... like almost promoting racism with 'Code of Honor'.

A lot of season 1 was dodgy, and a bit of season 2. I think it found it's place in season 3.

Aye.  A couple seasons in when they changed the uniforms, they lengthened Worf's hair, and Riker was fully invested in his beard.  Those Season 1-2 skintight uniforms left very little to the imagination.  How can you expect a Romulan D'deridex to listen to you when your skinny-ass is practically a mold.

ya know,  The Wounded is especially interesting, considdering how DS9 ended.

Where the hell was Maxwell for the dominion war?

how much apoligizing did starfleet have to do to get him back?

how much did he get to say "TOLD YOU SO!"

i forgot how stupid Dukat looked in that helmet.

I wish Dukat had actually been the same character from the wounded, would have fitted.

gul evek captained the galor class vetar in season 7 in the episode where wesley met the indians and left with the traveller. (Journey's End), it was also evek and the vetar chasing chakotays raider, which is most likely called val jean.

in this episode the gul was called macet, he was the only cardassian with facial hair, and all of them had different uniforms and had helmets. macet captained the trager, also galor class, clearly inferior to the enterprise, as picard forces him to stop attacking him with only a couple phaser strikes.

macet as correctly noted, is played by ds9 veteran marc alaimo, the ds9 writers obviously decided macet wasn't a nice enough name for dukat.

on another note, dukat's first names apparently had initials S.G. as he said them aloud while recording a report for his superiors when in command of terok nor (DS9) in the early sixth season of ds9.
