STO Ships

I did myself a favor and purchased the MVAM-Escort Retrofit. In terms of Customization it's just great; You can actually alter the single sections of that vessel. I mixed the bulky back and the lower pylons of the Prometheus with the lower stardrive, nacelles and saucer from the Cerberus and the upper pylons from the Phoenix.

A new ship has been forced upon me, the Sovereign Class USS Astrea. I should try turining on the Dominion tech visuals sometime...

Just reached Vice admiral (YAY ) but I'm having some problems with my ((hopefully) Future) ship, Nebula retrofit. Up till now I have been grinding dilithium, just to one day turn it into C-points and buy a nebula and since I've been using  the Luna class since lever 40 I have become quite accustomed to having two Lt.Cmd. Science abilities (Tyken's rift 2 and Gravity well 1) and switching to nebula will force me to downgrade Tyken's rift to 1 or forget it entirely (which wasts my flow capacitors skill). Any advice on this? I have been looking at other ships (Intrepid, D'kir) but those don't excite me as much (I always wanted a Nebula).

I'd stay with the Luna as primary and save up for the Nebula as an alternate, just swap between them depending on how you feel at the time.

The retrofitted Nebula is actually better than the Luna (if you are a science-officer), as it's more focused on science-abilities while the Luna attempts to have a more tactical aspect. That's why it has a better tactical station while the other standard-rear-admiral science-vessel has a better engineering station. The Nebula has a universal station you can use each kind of bridge-officer in, which is good. It's just a little more expensive on C-points (800 for the Captain-rank Nebula and 1200 for the retrofitted rear-Admiral one which I have chosen).

I've used the retrofitted Nebula mainly and discharged my Luna after a while - I needed ship-slots. It's a fine ship and quite durable with a good combination of subsystems.

The STO site says its Science slots are inferior, Ensign/Commander compared to Lieutenant Commander/Commander. The Universal one is still a downgrade from the Science slots on the Luna, Lieutenant Commander down to Lieutenant.

I think that's what's causing Zweistein000 doubt.

well i am at 120k dilthium,which is approx 500 c points if i converted them depending on exchange price,did spend a lil on field emitter for shields increases 35% on max so am at 13k shields thou am wanting my maco xi shield,,got almost  avail ship parts i.e dominion breen borg,am confues thou,i have 4 antiproton borg phasers,but the new dominion ones seem to 5 damage better and with polaron booster would seem to be better then the borg ones and cant seem to find info elsewhere on that,nice to have jem hadar fully equipped working for me thou as my first officer,any wqy the game has crashed again shard issues so am gonna get sum sleep i think,and if anyone wants to add me handle is lptpsteve@lptpsteve

and if there is a fleet group for fleet ops ppl let me know,hope to c u all on sto

100 Cpoints from a Thunderchild for the character im playing Escort with just finished the latest Dominion missions so i have purple nacelles and impulse so Im actually flying a Fed/Dominion mix tech Akira :p  guna run that mission with my Cruiser character so i have a Mixed tech Galaxy later

This...  I do get 3 Science slots, but I trade a lt.commander for that one. Also I changed Photonic shockwave to I and upgraded Gravity well to 3. 3 seconds of PSW 1 disable is more then enough for my tricobalt torpedoes to hit and GW 3 does way more damage then PSW 3.

Well I switched ships and tried out my Galor, and okay okay I take it back, I love the Galor.  don't think I shall bother getting the Galaxy-X after all.

My first Tactical ship, the Defiant Class USS Vegeta NCC-93483-A. I dismissed my Miranda in a moment of weakness, so might as well make it a legacy ship.

Plus, it's a midget that hits hard, just like the character it's named after...
