There is no 'half-canon', there is only canon, official & non-canon. The individual USS Titan name itself is the only canon aspect.

The Vesta Class is another novel ship. Again, official at best but not canon. Assuming this is the correct ship.

On Star Trek Online, you could easily take this for the next Enterprise...

Did something happen to 1701-E? They were repairing it at the end of Nemesis weren't they?

STO is set about 30 years after Nemesis, so there's plently of time for them to bullshit a death for it. Even easier considering Enterprise's tend to have short lifespans, even without a Riker in the command division.

yeah, its possible there was a massive battle and the enterprise e died a heroic and not silly death.

original ent was destroyed for its self destruct usage.
the a was mothballed cos it was old.
the b was never mentioned
the c died heroically actually, a fitting death.
the d died pathetically, but at least it made room for the e, which was a nice ship. the ent e is the only good thing to come from the death of the d lol.
the e hopefully died heroically.

Exactly, unless something is shown onscreen in a Trek show or movie it is NOT cannon, period.

Myles wrote:these new star trek films are a complicated matter, technically if you believe the jj trek film, none of the other trek's happened that way anymore. vulcan's destruction means things are changed a lot. so all the star trek series and films (except enterprise) have to be ignored.

On this point I have to respectfully disagree. They intentionally wrote the new Trek so as to not invalidate everything that had come before by making it an alternative timeline. We already had two universes in cannon, Terran Empire and mainstream, now we have three.

Running parallel to the primary, the original still exists according to MA. Those events didn't happen in that one though, for obvious reasons.

There isn't 3 realities, canon goes with the 'infinate parallels' version. We've already seen thousands of Galaxy Class Enterprise's and at least several which only have minor visible changes like crew differences.

considering jj trek as an alternate timeline is what myself and MA are doing, considering it separate, but valid in its own way.

Apparently, the writers of the movie share the same view:
The writers of Star Trek, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, were asked about the implications of the new alternate reality that was introduced in the film in an interview. They explained the new reality runs parallel to the prime reality as a new quantum reality, as the concept was explained by Data in the episode "Parallels".

Ok I am little confused. First of all my understanding is that CBS would not even consider and new Star Trek tv series unles the next 2 films do very well. If this is true it would mean another series would not on the air until somewhere around 2016. Second question is about the next film. All of the cast of the last movie are all signed to make the next two movies. How could the movies have anything to do with the Enterprise F unless it make a brief showing in the movie and some kind of time travel plot. As far as the the JJ timeline is concerned I think it is still the normal cannon trek we know., somehow at the end of the third film everything will be normal agian. Remember the "temperal* Cold War" for Enterprise? Most likely the plot of the next JJ films will be something like that. Last question what contest???

The new universe and the original one are seperate, in the same way as the Terran Empire's home timeline and the infinate other quantum realities are each seperate after the main divergence point.

I doubt they'll ever even meet again, let alone join.

indeed that is the Vesta class of which the Titan and Typhon pact novels USS Aventine is part of

and it is "official"

WHY WONT PEOPLE UNDERSTAND CANNON IS TV AND MOVIE ONLY!!!!!!  NOTHING IS CANNON UNTIL IT IS SEEN ON SCREEN!!!

p.s. not directed at you Tyler

The Star Trek I knew and loved is gone! JJ with his joke of a remake, CBS, ST Enterprise and Star Trek online have killed it. Never, no matter how hard they try, could they ever hope to rival The Wrath of Khan, First Contact, DS9 or The Undiscovered Country.  It doesn't matter what this ship looks like! As far as I'm concerned the Enterprise dies at E.

Nuff said! (wipes away a lonely nostalgic tear)
