Though since thats an already existing design its obviously invalid per the rules and why I didn't post one of the many uploads of it that arn't even from DJ himself(plus hes canadian and not in the 45 US states that allow for this contest).

i didnt read the rules lol, i dont actually care what wins it, it wont be the canon enterprise anyway. just more of sto's rubbish. u can tell i have a low opinion of sto.
restricting it to usa only shows more how little they actually care about star trek.

This design is not pretty, but it's interesting. Rugged, a bit Klingon.

I admit i never played STO. The idea of a monthly fee for a game you STILL have to pay for annoys me. Is STO worh it?

I quite like the last one from the original post.

This to me, seems like what the Enterprise should have been in the most recent movie.

Why only non-canon designs allowed? If they want fan-made ships, just add more classes. Most things fan-made don't usually suit the flagship.

Actually yes it will be 100% canon. When the JJ movies(and possible series) are done it will be the design that CBS/Paramont will use in a new movie/series. Unlike the Titan and Vesta that are half-canon as they say.
And you shouldn't be blaming Intel(its there site, prizes and whatnot), Cryptic or CBS for restricting this contest. It is the laws of your own state/providence/country in which you reside in that dictate that you can't be involved and in which you should actually whos feet you need to be holding to the fire. Why else do you think that I said 45 US states specificly? Most governments of the world don't allow for 1) prizes that have a monetary value cannot be shipped between countrys and 2) citizens cannot give up intellectual rights to something. Honestly when was the last time that a large majority of the worlds population was involved in something like this? And you have to take into account that laws are always changing. If you want to be involved next time...tell your reps to change it or they can shove it in the next election cycle.
You see, the winning design becomes the property of CBS and no longer that of the creators. And another piece of bs is that you cannot mod the ship for FO or any game for that matter or thats the understanding by most over on the sto forum and others.

Because Cryptic and CBS simply want it to be an all new class.

if (big if) and when a new trek film/series shows with the ent f with the winning design from this competition, then it will be canon. only then, not a second before.
these new star trek films are a complicated matter, technically if you believe the jj trek film, none of the other trek's happened that way anymore. vulcan's destruction means things are changed a lot. so all the star trek series and films (except enterprise) have to be ignored.
i prefer to go with the way MA does it, keep the two treks separate. jj trek is canon, but only when considered alone. so it deserves a place on MA, but only with the header at the top that distinguishes it from "real" trek canon.
the ent f appearing in a jj based film/series is very unlikely, since there would be a massive gap in history between jj tos ere and jj 25th century.
if the ent f appeared in a "real" trek film/series then i would accept it.
titan is obviously not canon (not half canon, not any canon), vesta ive never heard of.
the design selected by this competition will very likely be forgotten and never make it to screen. in which case it will remain a fan design, not even close to canon.

let me explain my gripe clearer:
my complaint stands, this competition shouldnt have done for a monetary prize. star trek has fans all over the world, if cbs (or whoever is running this) truly cared about them, then this wouldnt be done for money. if they want to give a prize to americans they can do it in plenty of other meaningless competitions. that way fans who want to participate from other countries are allowed to. doesnt have to be for a monetary prize, trek fans will give their creative talent and time without the need for monetary prizes.

another thing which shows they dont care. they expect fans to do their work for them. if they want some intellectual property they can damn well make their own.

because they like arbitrary rules and dont actually care about the fans.
